@TVietor08@brhodes@PodSaveAmerica Love all your work, thank you. Carla Robbins decided a while a go to stop using the nickname Bibi. Much like in the U.K. Boris was used colloquially for Johnson. I think it belies a certain cult of personality that perhaps should be avoided?
@British_Airways Used Avios for a weekend away in Lyon. Beautiful place. Flights, service and efficiency was brilliant. Perfect from start to finish. Thanks BA!
Newly Elected New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Tribute to Pakistan and Its People
“I was born and raised in Uganda, East Africa. My mother hails from the Indian state of Punjab. I’ve had the privilege of visiting Pakistan — Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad — and today, here in Albany, witnessing the energy, vibrancy, and spirit that reminds me of those cities fills me with immense joy.
For too long, Pakistan’s story has been told through the lens of others, a story that often failed to recognize the humanity and emotions of the Pakistani people. The time has come for Pakistanis to tell their own story.
I stand here today as one of the elected representatives, to listen to you, to learn from your experiences, and to understand what it truly means to be Pakistani and Pakistani-American in this moment of history.
In these challenging times, when the principles of human compassion are under attack and countless lives are being lost, we must reflect deeply on our role and our responsibilities.
I often begin my mornings by reading the words of Pakistan’s great poet, Faiz Ahmed Faiz — a reminder of what my true duty is in these times. Today, I want to share a few lines from his iconic poem “Bol” (Speak) with you all:
بول کہ لب آزاد ہیں تیرے
بول زباں اب تک تیری ہے
تیرا ستواں جسم ہے تیرا
بول کہ جاں اب تک تیری ہے
Let these words live in your heart, a reminder that even in power, we must never stop speaking truth.”
Dear @RestPoliticsUS I’m a news junkie and have listen to hours of content about JE. But your show was the first time I heard from the victims. So powerful, so important to remember. It must have been a hard decision, thank you both, @Scaramucci and particularly you @KattyKay_ x
"Every principle, every article of international law and international humanitarian law have been blatantly violated with impunity...unless the international community responds with justice to what has happened and is happening in the occupied Palestinian territories, our world order is likely to regress into the barbarism from which the Charter of the United Nations was supposed to rescue us," Ambassador Munir Akram of Pakistan.
@MMFlint Good to hear Sicko still impactful. Great movie. I’m the U.K. doctor, you spoke to, I’m still with my wife, still working in the NHS full-time. Our first son who is the baby in the picture is now 18yrs! Thanks Mike.❤️
@jamiehyde1978 Dear Sir. Please forgive the extremely unusual step of asking about a pending Blazer. I am waiting for Louise Hollingworth’s reply. My son’s final day at school is Friday 28th of June and we are still waiting for his awards blazer order 13wks ago. 🙏 please help.
@amolrajan Thank you, I appreciate your polite, clear and direct interviewing style. Has a great deal of emotional intelligence about it. 👍 @BBCr4today
@RhonddaBryant There was a change of the wording from 2010 ‘ministers (must) comply with the law including international law and treaty obligations’ to the 2015 version reading ‘the overarching duty on ministers to comply with the law’. Is that a change? 🤔
@dieworkwear Such a lovely, informative and interesting feed. TY. Do you think ambient temperature has affected fashion. Everywhere is so brightly lit and hot, it seems to discourage layering for men.
