https://t.co/WlFPdB1yQu Terence McKenna has always been a big influence on my life. Reading his book, Food of the Gods (1993) , was a large turning point in my way of viewing psychedelics, plants, medicine, and human evolution. Humans have an innate ability to connect with the world around them. This often goes amiss. We regularly view our self as divided from nature. We seem to believe that we need to tame nature as a force; we put ourselves against nature. We build our cities on top of nature. We keep ourselves isolated inside our homes away from nature. We continue to limit our interaction with nature day by day, year by year, generation by generation. We engage with our technological devices that divide us further from our roots, our foundation of humanness. Now we are faced with the reality of AI becoming intertwined with human consciousness, further separating us from the natural world. We are driving ourselves deeper into the simulated illusion of reality. I don’t have the answers. I don’t even really know what the question is, could be…. Do we continue this route? It seems this is a choice that is going without question. We feel that we need to dive deeper into this other reality. Is this the global consciousness at work? We seem ambitiously in pursuit of a different reality than that of our clear existence here as inheritors of the planet. It’s as though we don’t want to be caretakers of this planet. You can see it in the destruction, day by day, of the Earth, our planetary home. Where has all this technology taken us? How much farther is there to go? It is as though we have run fast and far in the opposite direction of our origins, never seeking to understand the full scope of what we have been gifted by being here in the first place; always in search of some external stimuli. I believe there is an internal pursuit that we have neglected. That of a higher order, that of a higher consciousness, benevolence perhaps. I can only be here now and do what I am called to do in this life, and try daily to listen to that calling. May we find that which we seek. 🙏❤️🍄
