NEW: Mayor Zohran Mamdani is cleaning up a political mess after his office cancelled the annual pre-Puerto Rican Day Parade reception at Gracie Mansion, The Post has learned.

A national Jewish civil rights organization has formally called on New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to begin proceedings that could lead to the removal of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani from office, arguing his actions in City Hall have left Jewish New Yorkers with diminished legal protections and constitute a breach of the public trust.
In a detailed letter sent to Hochul and copied to senior federal, state, and local officials, Jewish community activists aligned with the organization @endjewhatred
asked the governor to open a formal inquiry into whether Mamdani — who regularly spreads conspiracy libels and falsehoods about Israeli and American Jews — should be removed from office.
EndJewHatred argues that Mamdani, who took office Jan. 1 following his election on an anti-Israel platform, has engaged in official misconduct.
Keep reading to see the legal arguments for removing the mayor from office, according to the campaign.
