The El Jefe line was hysterical and classic Popovich, but it was this moment that stood out to me most and got me emotional:
Pop shared that Manu and Duncan attended every one of his workout sessions at the Spurs training facility since his stroke ❤️

Gregg Popovich’s complete comments in his first press conference since his stroke as he passes the torch off to Mitch Johnson.
❤️ Pop forever #ElJefe 🐐

"Francisco Lindor goes to a place no shortstop has ever been, 200 stolen bases and now 300 home runs!"
Gary, Keith, and Ron on the call for Lindor's 300th career home run 🙌
"Takes the breath out of you, for sure. I feel for him. Just trying to be there for him like he was there for me."
- Malik Nabers on Jaxson Dart's injury
More testing has revealed that Jaxson Dart's knee injury is more severe than initially thought and he now may require season-ending surgery, per @AdamSchefter
John Harbaugh gives an update on Jaxson Dart:
"Evaluations are ongoing. We haven't got any final decisions yet...we've learned a lot more. I wouldn't want to share too much until decisions get made."
Since we were off last night, I didn’t see the Jared Young incident until much later. Truly terrifying. So relieved to hear the CT scan was negative and that he had feeling in his extremities.
Echoing what others have said, Jared is truly one of the great people in this game. He’s worked his absolute tail off to get to this point. Through a career where he could’ve given up on himself more than once, he never did.
It’s awful that this is likely how his breakout season ends. Here’s to praying he’s back next year better than ever.
The easiest guy in the world to root for.
Pete Alonso met up post game with Mike, Nick & Chris - the trio of Mets fans who caught his 300th career home run.
They exchanged the ball for signed baseballs, bats and Alonso to sign their jerseys.
Pete brought beers and offered the trio tickets to games in Baltimore
"It's really a moment for me to share with my family"
Mitch Voit says he's "incredibly proud" to be able to share the moment with his family after he was named the Mets' Player Development Player of the Year:
The MAC now says that “replay protocol was not properly followed” in the Western Michigan-Michigan game and the league has filed a formal appeal with the NCAA FBS Oversight Committee to be recognized as the winner.
Seeing misinformed Jalen Brunson/Knicks talk in aftermath of Kawhi/LAC penalties talk. As a reminder: Jalen Brunson signed a max extension in 2024. If you compare it to max deal he could’ve signed as a free agent, Brunson left $37M on the table (details below). Leonard, per NBA report, received money outside of traditional salary cap payments as part of his first deal with LAC. Brunson was already in NY when he signed extension. (He came to NY after signing a much-maligned 4-year, $104M deal). At the risk of @PabloTorre calling me a team-friendly beat reporter, I’ll say confidently that Brunson signed his max extension with the intent to give Knicks more financial flexibility and he will be paid handsomely when he signs his next max extension with NY. So it’s silly/misguided to make any comparison to Kawhi/LAC. If I end up being wrong, feel free to come after me over this. (@OldTakesExposed). But I don’t think Brunson has a side deal with the Las Vegas Sphere. There’s no smoking gun here. https://t.co/lRJfkI3gbn
