华盛顿时间，6月4日凌晨4:40。

前天结束“六四”纪念馆的开幕仪式，回到家已经是深夜11点。昨天早上9点从洛杉矶出发，在达拉斯转机，抵达华盛顿已经是晚上9点。

今天要在国会山，与美国国会领袖和议员们一起，向全世界表达对“六四”受难者的哀悼，对中国民主的期待，

一样��时差：凌晨2点才睡着，4点就醒了。困，但怎么也睡不着。

按照三十六年来的惯例，今天禁食一天。为什么？大家都懂的。

我在大学教书时的一个学生私信我。现在也已经是大学老师的她，也是每年的今天禁食一天。她问我：“看看世界现在这个样子，不知道坚持还有什么意义。你是这个世界上最在意这件事的人，你觉得呢？”

我觉得？睡不着的我坐在床上想了很久，发出了我的回复：“很多事，是做给自己的。为的是自己能够面对自己，为的是自己能为自己骄傲。坚持也是如此。坚持一件事，不论成败，意义都是充实自己的精神世界。”

我知道这不是最好的答案，或许安慰对方的成分多了一些。其实，坚持对我，当然还有一个意义，那就是尊严。

中共那样一个残暴贪婪，反文明的政权，在大屠杀之��居然还能存活，居然还有那么多人明知真相但保持沉默。如果我也沉默，我也放弃，我会觉得生而为人，毫无尊严。

当年那么多同学与我一起倾城一战，试图为国家拼一个美好的未来，其中很多人失去了青春甚至生命。如果没有人继续为他们发声，如果任由他们和那个时代被人遗忘，我会觉得生而为人，毫无尊严。

向中共这样的政权屈服是没有尊严的事情，因为艰难与挫折而放弃也是没有尊严的事情。坚持，或许就是争一口气吧。

但是，能用一生去争一口气，在我看来，这，就是尊严。

也许有人觉得说这些太不现实，但是我真的，很在乎尊严这件事。

我想，当年走上街头的那些中国人，也很在乎！

以此，为“六四”三十六周年祭。
