@UridiumAuthor Just keep that thing away from Venus. I haven't fixed my cloaking device yet after an unfortunate incident in Saturn's rings, and I can't risk discovery pending a possible return to Earth/ZZAP!.
I appear to have caught some of what you EARTHLINGS would call "Christmas spirit" around the time of your winter solstice, and to that end I am sharing this rather generous post. May good fortune prevail, should you choose to engage.
๐ค Raffle time!
It's been a while since I've done one of these, so what better time than now, as Christmas approaches.
I started collecting and trading games in the mid-80s. Over the years, that collection has grown. Time to give something back. While giving away retro games always hurts a little, I have multiple copies of the ones shown in the picture (so it hurts a bit less).
I'll pick a winner on 26 December. To enter, simply comment with the game you want and share this post. It doesn't matter if multiple people choose the same game; the winner gets the one they picked.
๐น๏ธ C64: Bard's Tale III, Uridium, M.U.L.E., Wasteland, Gunship, Pool of Radiance, Elite
๐น๏ธ Amiga: Star Command, Operation Wolf, Warlords, Wizardry VI, Road Warrior, Eye of the Beholder
๐น๏ธ Atari ST: Paladin, Wolfpack, King's Quest, Space Quest II, Colonel's Bequest
๐น๏ธ PC: Ultima Trilogy (I-III), Starflight 2, Windwalker, Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, Space Quest III, King's Quest IV
The winner will be announced here on the evening of the 26th.
@exquizitely Although high scores are my domain, I would very much like to replace the copy of Wasteland that was carelessly jettisoned by one of my minions on a previous visit to Earth. I was so enraged, I almost caused the game's scenario for real.
@CptSparky360@St1ka What's illogical is completely negating a perfectly serviceable control method in a game, even one that works better for the game's sake, purely because of the platform it's running on.
@CptSparky360@St1ka What a weird viewpoint. The C64 conversion is an outstanding achievement. Besides, there were absolutely loads of platform games on the C64 that used the fire button to jump. Doing it here is hardly breaking a sacred tradition.
@CptSparky360@St1ka The original Sonic the Hedgehog used left, right, up, and down for directions, and fire to jump. They were the controls. How else would you suggest they were implemented on the C64?
@Il_Paradroide@JazRignall You can now get some of them, though. Alien 8, Knight Lore, Gunfright, and Atic Atac have all been converted to the C64 in recent years.
Being the all-powerful intergalactic entity I am, I do not sleep, therefore I do not have dreams, #C64 or otherwise. However, my times spent in the vicinity of your planet informed me that you Earth creatures do indeed suffer such nocturnal aberrations, so this may interest some.
Over ยฃ20,000 raised on the #Kickstarter for my new book #C64Dreams in association with @Retro_Fusion - back before the 8th of May! https://t.co/R4Q7sCBTkg
@Nordischsound@merman1974 I spent much of your 1980s decade in the orbit of your planet, and this is a more than worthy facsimile of the musical arrangement that was popular at that time. I may use this when I'm contemplating a trip through hyperspace. I deem your efforts beyond satisfactory.
FEEBLE EARTHLINGS! Your planet's most prestigious and popular Commodore 64 magazine, ZZAP! 64, has now existed for 40 of your years, and its pathetic staff invite you to celebrate this apparently momentous milestone with them. Issue 25 #ZZAP64 is out now: https://t.co/WC1c7Z2Xba
@gamesyouloved I am The Scorelord. It would be futile to reveal my place of origin, as observing it is beyond your capabilities. I have documented high-scoring achievements across the universe for aeons, but your pitiful planet piqued my interest in the 1980s, with feats registered in ZZAP! 64.
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the meagre brains of the ZZAP! 64 reviewers taxed well beyond their feeble limits with this one. I strongly recommend you purchase it on that basis alone, although it is a most pleasing entry into the Commodore 64's library.
Finally, it is available as a digital release: Gridlock - a new Commodore 64 game by @ScubaChris72@Rotteroy and @lukhash from Megastyle and @BitmapSoft
