This team is so frustrating man. You make everyone believers again and immediately become a lifeless ball club. You don’t deserve to win the division if you can’t manage a winning record against said division. #Cubs
@TheBlogfines At a point you have to do something different and it’s right in front of his face. You can say “but the numbers, but the rookies” you can’t guarantee the vets will turn it around either.
@TheBlogfines We don’t have to assume that either. You can more safely assume positive regression yes. I’m not advocating permanent bench, I’m just on the side of temporarily going with the young guys. Watching them bat over the last six weeks hasn’t proven it couldn’t be 1-2 weeks longer.
@TheBlogfines Also historical performance is not indicative of future results. This is heavily based on historical performance. It’s a guideline, if it were a rule there would be no reason to play the games, just sim em.
@Bobbypbuckets@clintbender@JesseRogersESPN We had like 10 “starters” at the beginning of the year. We haven’t run out of starters… yet. They just haven’t been good enough. There are some farm injuries too so even if we wanted to call some young guys up and see what we got we can’t.
Not depth, badness is the issue
@Bobbypbuckets@clintbender@JesseRogersESPN Injuries stink and it’s unfortunate for any team because the whole what could’ve been. Cubs stink regardless of pitching staff injuries but it certainly doesn’t help. We need all the help we can get
@Bobbypbuckets@clintbender@JesseRogersESPN But we still had to replace 4 starters on our opening day rotation. That pulled 3 swing guys into starting roles and out of the pen. Colin Rea is only starting because he has to. Ben Brown a lone bright spot was supposed to be in the pen. Basically 0 from Horton
