Opinions are strictly my own.
As a New Jersey native, a long-time reader, and a reporter there for a brief stint, I'm sad to see @starledger & @HCDemocrat ceasing print editions of the newspapers, even if I understand the economic reality of the decision. Driveways will just look emptier without a paper there
"This 2024 Mets season made this 70 year old feel 15 all over again." My eyes get a little watery listening the @HowieRose and realizing the end of the @Mets season means no more broadcasts. I hope I get to hear his golden pipes call 1 championship before he hangs up his mic.
@mtamaryland This is confusing because on train cars w/ bike racks you cannot bungie anywhere on the train and can only use the racks, and if the racks are full you can't bring your bike on, which presents a problem for morning commuters who can't predict how many other bike riders board.
All credit to the unbelievable numbers #Ohtani put up all year, but @Lindor12BC plays EVERYDAY (when healthy), came up clutch all year, and just scooped his team up and hit them into the playoffs. That should trump a DH every day for #MVP@MLB@SNYtv
are you serious @Xfinity@XfinitySupport ??? a tech comes out, and if the internet issue is you, I'm off the hook, but if it's my modem, I pay $100??? I've already been through the hell of your customer service portal. I HATE THE INTERNET MONOPOLIES.
As the weather gets warmer & more commuters bike it feels like it's a crap shoot if you'll be able to get on the train you need, making commuting untenable. If this is the new policy, then add more bike racks to cars, or add an extra car of just racks, or bring back bungees.
The bike policy on @mtamaryland MARC trains is infuriating. Once racks are full, I can't board. But I can't predict when racks will be full, so how do I guarantee I can get on a train and get to work on time. Waiting 20-60 minutes for the next train is not a viable option.
How did @mtamaryland land on this new policy? Did anyone track bike rider data? Do they continue to do so & see increases? Did anyone actually ride to the train & board it to see what the lived reality of this policy is?
Ever since I moved (around the same time as the change of ownership) @baltimoresun cannot consistently deliver my paper. I'm supposed to get it Wed, Sat, Sun, & the only 1 that shows up regularly is Sat. Calling customer service numerous times doesn't fix it. Help? Unsubscribe?
I really enjoy watching soccer, but the moment someone starts flopping around with fake injuries I lose most interest and all respect.
They need to broadcast more women's soccer so we see less of this faux dramatic, soft nonsense.
A warning - AVOID @SamsungUS appliances. Our brand new fridge stopped working after a month. We've now have to AGAIN wait on a new repair person/replacement fridge without full compensation for the accruing food cost of having no fridge for more than 2 weeks.
@TheMDTA@Ravens@Orioles The @Ravens & @Orioles aren't going anywhere. @MLB wants to expand or move TB/Miami, not let Angelos cry poverty & leave. @NFL also is loath to move a franchise. Vegas has been claimed by both leagues, so the gambling cash cow is secure. Owners have $, let them foot the bill.
Seems a pretty easy fix, if @TheMDTA faces a $1B budget cut, just reallocate the $1.2B we are giving to @Ravens & @Orioles. A lot more people use transit/roads than go to games. Tax money is for public infrastructure, and transit spending fits that goal WAY more than stadiums
@mtamaryland Run more trains, more often, including nights and weekends (& late so events and nightlight can be enjoyed); lower the fare (farebox recovery is shortsighted); direct trains from Baltimore to DC, w/ fewer or no stops, for quicker travel (takes 1.5+ hours to go from home to work)
@RichmondRCMP Terrible add, false equivalency, and horrible road design. Pedestrian safety is a 2-way street - on which drivers and urban planners are primarily responsible for incidents like this. NOT the pedestrian.
With age comes the savvy of understanding the real estate market. At nearly 40, I now know that the key to owning a home is to have purchased it 10-20 years ago, or to be so obscenely wealthy you do not care how much over asking you pay, or to take what you can get you peon.
It is ridiculous we give any money to multi-billion-dollar franchises and billionaire owners. Invest in the city and its people and it will reap greater economic benefits and better standards of living. If the @Orioles & @Ravens leave, that's on them.

Hey @MDOTNews - what is the protocol if you are late for your emissions test because everyone in the house who can drive has COVID the week of the due date? I imagine your techs appreciate us not coming.
Starting a new job and filing out the tax paperwork reminds me how purposefully confusing our tax system is. Remember this is by design. If we don't understand taxes, are confused/annoyed by them, we despise them, thereby buying into the "all taxes are bad" narrative.
