I really think people have the idea & the reasons for the so-called "golden years" of development wrong. The magic isn't the age, but the traditional activities during that age: Play!
Turning ages 5-12 into drill work to maximize the golden years destroys their goldenness.
All FBS schools deserve a chance. If not, then create a new division. The fact that if you are not in the SEC, B1G, and maybe, even the ACC, you are little brother is ridiculous.
We’re all arguing about Miami, Alabama, Notre Dame and overlooking that TWO groups of 5 schools are occupying spots when they have zero business playing in it this year.
Tulane lost 45-10 to Ole Miss.
JMU only played ONE P4 school and lost by 14.
What a mess
@dougvansant@dannykanell Completely agree with this. As an Utah fan who still remembers the WAC and Mountain West days, I refuse to look down on the “little” schools. Either create a separate division or give them the chance they deserve.
Thanks for stopping by, Dave, we’re big fans! Fun fact: The Pie has been serving thin-crust, light-cheese pies cooked well-done for 45 years. Just ask, we make them all the time! Guess we should’ve been louder about it… maybe Utah just needed a Pie named the Portnoy Pie to spread the word.
@notgaetti Can you imagine paying money to see a bullpen day? Not only that, two weeks later you will be paying to see a position player lob strikes because the bullpen is worn out.
Shouldn’t it also mean that you compete in multiple sports with different physical disciplines. Being a powerlifter who runs a lot for fun, or a runner who puts too much volume towards increasing their already strong enough squat and deadlift just means bad physical preparation.
If you claim to be a “hybrid athlete” I expect you to be in the top 1% for endurance events (5k up through marathon) and some strength-based sport.
Basically you need to be good as hell at Hyrox (or similar) and also be a fast marathon runner.
Being big and running mediocre times doesn’t mean anything. That’s just being well-rounded and fit.
@DrNeilStone We have had our baby fully vaccinated, or at least every time our doctor recommends, and I don’t think it has been that many. Is this just scaremongering? Maybe our baby has had this many.
@avgBSB@notgaetti I agree 100%. It kind of negates the importance of lifetime, and even, season stats. Pitchers and hitters shouldn’t be rewarded or punished by playing most of their games at a particular stadium. Dimensions should be the same.
