@inkasrain I guess I'm also thinking of a future where after the Stepstones stuff, the fence will be mended when Rhaenyra is presumably betrothed to Laenor. So how consequential was this decision really (very, as it turns out, but not in the way anyone would have anticipated).
@inkasrain Yeah that’s a fair claim that they’re already aligned, but I think these marriage ties are (almost) always the unbreakable alliance. I do still think Oldtown is significant enough of a power player that it matters enough to distinguish from say Robb marrying Jeyne Westerling.
@inkasrain Good point. The Rhaenyra/Alicent relationship is so valuable. It also may show that things are never truly binary. Marrying a Hightower still has a political edge, so we’re operating both on a grossness and a political advantage gradient. Neither option is perfectly one thing.
@inkasrain I like the take a lot. The only thing I don’t understand with the show is why they didn’t just make Alicent older to sketch the dichotomy out more clearly (18 in F&B).
@KevinOConnorNBA @Adam_Mares@RonakNair@D_Berkey @JayLowe009 Kevin, this was an excellent podcast. Loved the structure of it, and Adam was an outstanding guest. Thanks for the great content.

@JesseCox I was at 1 in the queue before erroring out multiple times and getting knocked out entirely. I'm not even mad! They're doing everything they can and the game has been great when I've been able to play.
