Mark Daigneault: “There’s no team I’d rather coach than this team. I'd rather wake up today eliminated from the playoffs coaching this team than coaching any other team.”
Breaking: Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has won his second consecutive NBA Most Valuable Player award, becoming the 14th player in league history to win back-to-back MVPs, multiple sources tell ESPN.
Devin Booker on the Thunder:
"You can't say anything without bringing up Shai. He's the MVP of the league and he's playing the basketball in the league for the past 2 years, mixed with guys that know their roles, some seasoned vets that are relentless. They have all the answers to the test, they've been tested together and they've been together for years so that's an advantage"
Thunder sweep the Suns, await the Rockets/Lakers
This is the Thunder's 3rd consecutive first round sweep
4th sweep in franchise history (first sweep in 2012 against the Mavs)
Nick Underhill took the ultimate gamble when he ditched a lucrative job at The Athletic in 2020 and returned to New Orleans to create a killer website focusing on the Saints. Now, he's got big plans. After Draft Day, he'll get a haircut. https://t.co/fdGfMSYtR5

Thought this David Adelman quote was notable:
“I do think sometimes when you watch film, you just say, ‘Yeah, I think I got fouled.’ Believe me, when we play Shai or somebody who shoots a lot of free throws, and I go back to the clips, I don't say, ‘I can’t believe you got all those calls.’ I go, ‘Why are we fouling him so much?’”
Jalen Williams on Luka Doncic injuring his hamstring in the Thunder's win vs. the Lakers last night:
"I feel really bad for him. It's very spooky, in a way, to see it happen to him and I'm the one guarding him… I tried to let [the ball] go out of bounce to give him time to figure it out. That injury sucks. So, I wish him a speedy recovery."

Mickey Loomis on Demario Davis: "On behalf of the New Orleans Saints, we are grateful for the contributions of Demario Davis to our football team. Demario gave everything from both a performance and leadership perspective to this team for the last eight years, and for that we are all extremely grateful. This past season, Demario had a great impact on both the growth of our defense with the implementation of a new scheme and playing an important role in the development of many young players on a promising defense. Although we are going in different directions at this time, Demario will always be looked at as one of the most impactful players to wear the Black and Gold. We wish him and his family great success as he continues his career."
Demario Davis will probably have more to say later, but here is something he told me today via text.
“Though changing locker rooms, Nola will always be home and our off the field work is far from finished there.”
