The first of two sold-out shows in Charlotte, Olivia Rodrigo took fans on a theatrical journey through the shifting seasons of love, heartbreak and moving on.
Performing on an elaborate horseshoe-shaped stage covered in thousands of flowers, Rodrigo divided her two-hour set into five acts — Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and a return to Spring.
Cinematic video interludes, psychedelic visuals and constantly evolving floral arrangements enhanced the show’s emotional arc, culminating in a spectacular waterfall sequence that transformed Rodrigo’s dress during her performance of “the cure.”
Rodrigo leaned heavily into her rock sensibilities with electric performances of “good 4 u,” “bad idea right?,” and “all-american bitch,” while reimagining several of her softer songs with heavier guitar-driven arrangements. She also surprised fans with “Can’t Catch Me Now,” performing the song for the first time on the tour.
With a commanding stage presence and an increasingly confident embrace of her rock influences, Rodrigo’s tour delivered a visually striking and emotionally charged performance.

While much of the buzz surrounding Kacey Musgraves' current tour has centered on the "disco balls" she performs atop during "Rhinestoned," her "Merry Go 'Round" stage setup carries a deeper sense of symbolism. 📝: @Zach_Goins https://t.co/b2NMG6d8xb
Kacey Musgraves brought her glimmering cosmic country sound to Charlotte with her latest album, 'Middle of Nowhere,' finding the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter returning to her Texas country roots with a Tejano flair after spending the past year and a half living in Mexico.
Musgraves brought the interstellar brand of country-pop that fans have grown to love to Charlotte, performing on a rotating “merry-go-round” stage while also delivering plenty of 'Golden Hour' favorites, including “Butterflies,” “High Horse,” “Slow Burn," “Space Cowboy," and “Golden Hour."
Backed by a seven-piece band featuring pedal steel and accordion, along with more unexpected elements like a keytar, the show struck a balance between intimate musicality and visual spectacle.
Sparkling showers, drone-operated butterflies, strobes, and cascading lights surrounded a UFO-shaped LED structure overhead, while an aerial “sparkly ball” structure created a trippy, sci-fi atmosphere that complemented Musgraves’ intergalactic cowgirl aesthetic and left plenty of room for the crowd to sing along.
Musgraves has found a sweet spot between country tradition and pop experimentation in both her music and live shows — while still being rooted in Texas and always reaching for something more otherworldly.
