Got to work and saw my manager left me a sticky note: "Please prioritize VIP tickets today."
We don't actually have VIP tickets. We have regular tickets and tickets from people who think they're VIPs.
But I've created my own system.
Actual priority:
- Tickets that affect multiple people (network issues, shared drive problems)
- Tickets from people who are nice to me
- Tickets that are easy and make me look productive
- Everything else
The CEO's assistant submitted a ticket this morning asking for help with Excel formulas.
Marked it "HIGH PRIORITY."
I'll get to that one around 3 PM.
Meanwhile, the guy from Facilities who always brings me cookies when he's on my floor? His ticket about the conference room TV went straight to the top.
Fixed it in 10 minutes. He'll probably bring cookies tomorrow.
The CEO's assistant will get her Excel help eventually, but she's never once said thank you, so she can wait.
My manager thinks I'm prioritizing based on business impact.
I'm actually prioritizing based on who treats me like a human.
America summed up in one photo.

Japan 36
Canada 27
USA - ZERO
But sure, let’s promote ourselves as a family friendly country of opportunity.
Do better…
HOT BUTTON topic that drives me insane:
Why parents would schedule a long vacation during a school sports season and put their child in an uncomfortable position because they are not available to be with team and coaches is so frustrating to me. Don’t vacation during seasons!
The ‘PEAKY BLINDERS’ movie has been officially greenlit by Netflix.
• Cillian Murphy will star in & exec produce
• Tom Harper will direct with Steven Knight writing the script
• Filming begins later this year
Pelicans are "planning to defer" the Lakers' first-round pick until 2025, allowing LA to pick 17th overall in the upcoming draft, per @wojespn, @DraftExpress
The first-round pick was part of the Anthony Davis trade from 2019
Officially a free agent. I appreciate all the support @EvilGeniuses has given to me over the past year or so. I'm still open to opportunities for CS/CS2 as a player AND as a coach, as per my previous post!
