The impact you made both on and off the court will forever be felt by the city of Boston and Celtics fans everywhere.
Thank you to one of the all-time great Celtics, Jaylen Brown ☘️
Only FIVE QB's in NFL history have strung together 7 straight games with 200+ Passing Yards and a 100+ Passer Rating.
Aaron Rodgers (twice), Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Patrick Mahomes, and DRAKE MAYE.
Decent list.
Hard to articulate how much of a basketball tragedy this is for Jayson Tatum.
You won't find a player that cares more than him. Genuinely carries himself with a team-first approach, always pushes himself to play through minor injuries, and has never made excuses when the Celtics fell short.
I'll have a full column on this tomorrow so I won't go too long here, but this is what really bugs me: It shouldn't take an Achilles tear, or him missing a full year, for people to appreciate what he's about. Or to fully appreciate what he's accomplished by age 27. No hyperbole, Tatum was on the verge of playoff achievements and sustained success that only a *handful* of players have enjoyed in the first half of their career.
He will be named to his fifth All-NBA team within the next week, and it feels cruel for this to happen to a player that never misses time. One that perpetually leads 55+ win teams and finds a different way to improve each season. It shouldn't take a player of that caliber having his prime interrupted for viewers to finally recognize he's everything you'd want in a franchise superstar.
