Ukraine supporters! This Toonie Tuesday we will be raising funds with the ultimate scambuster @Lorelei_0502 for the 356th Sep Btln, TDF "East". The battalion, like many others, has been deployed to high-intensity, active combat zones on the eastern front.

They are involved in setting up new positions, delivering ammunition, and providing air defence for strategically important facilities. They urgently need folding beds, charging stations, and generators. These are the bare necessities that keep a unit motivated and fighting.

Their type of work is critical but isn’t the type of work that can go viral on social media - which is why they don't have social media accounts. This is the type of unit that Toonie Tuesday was built for – we must not let them down!

The Beasts from the East!

Fellas and supporters of Ukraine – this week along with the Angels of Donbas we get to support two incredible units. The 115th Mechanized Brigade and the 3 UAV Battalion of the 426th Separate Unmanned Systems!

The 115th need a pickup which will cost €6,200 and the 3 UAV Battalion 426th Separate Unmanned Systems is a military unit of the Ukrainian Marine Corps, €1,960 Scan-OX electronic reconnaissance system (very fancy).

00Fellas – the Special Purpose Sniper Unit of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” have asked for our support! This is your mission should you choose to accept it!

Warfare for snipers has changed. It’s not the same as it was in 2022.

PROJECT Q is our new fundraiser for Azov’s drone lab to upgrade the 12th’s drones to give them the cutting edge against the orcs.

We are raising funds for 2-3 ZGRAYA systems that converts standard FPVs into REB‑resistant drones, TRIPPLIING hit‑rates by keeping control and video stable under Russian jamming.

The goal is around $8,000 USD as we have $680 USD remaining from the previous TT’s for a starter. Let’s give it our best shot, and keep this target in our sights. It’s a long shot, but I know we can hit our target!

Every year on this day, Poland and Ukraine honor the memory of people – civilians – who were killed in Volyn during the Second World War. Today, representatives of the Ukrainian state took part in joint prayer services alongside representatives of the Polish state – both here in Ukraine and in Poland.

Ukraine is doing its part to fairly establish the facts about those who were killed in those years. Search operations are underway at the sites of former villages and burial locations. Ukraine is committed to accelerating this process. In just two days, exhumation work will begin in the villages of Ostrivky and Volya Ostrovetska.

What we need is the full truth and a Christian commemoration of the victims. But we must also remember that today, in our own time, Ukraine and Poland face one common threat, which is a deadly threat to our independence, to both our states, to every city and every village. That threat is Russia. As we speak about the past, we must not cast doubt on the future of our nations – the future of Ukraine, of Poland, and the future of all of Europe.

Одного дня нам доведеться поговорити з поляками про те, що треба називати речі своїми іменами.

Наприклад, що вирізання польських КОЛОНИСТІВ українськими повстанцями було жахливою трагедією, але передумови цієї трагедії були на 100% створені польською ОКУПАЦІЙНОЮ АДМІНІСТРАЦІЄЮ.

Або про те, що термін "Малопольща", яким поляки називають етнічні українські землі, нічим принципово не відрізняється від російського колоніального терміну "Малоросія".

І про історичну іронію того факту, що поляки поділили Україну з більшовиками в такий самий спосіб, в який потім німці ділили з більшовиками Польщу.

Про те, що на момент існування УПА поляки були для українців такими ж окупантами, як і росіяни.

Про те, що УПА створювалася задля звільнення українського народу від окупації (як московської, так і польської), і саме за це вона вшановується. І про те, що боротьба народу проти окупації та колонізації його земель не є злочином - вона є необхідним елементом становлення будь-якої нації, і польська нація також через це неодноразово проходила.

Росіяни вважають терористами польських героїв, які боролися за визволення польських земель з-під окупації. Поляки вважають терористами українських героїв, які боролися за визволення українських земель. Це природно. Окупанту ніколи не подобається, коли поневолені народи починають боротися проти нього. Але думки окупанта ніхто не питає.

Для того щоб нарешті залишити минуле в минулому і почати будувати спільне майбутнє в цивілізованому світі, нам треба відверто все це проговорити. Це буде боляче, сумно й гірко, але через це треба пройти, щоб рухатися далі без ресентименту.

І ми звісно маємо покаятися за злочини, які наші предки скоювали одне проти одного. Але цей процес каяття не може бути одностороннім. Якщо ви хочете, щоб каялися тільки ми, а ви робили вигляд що польська окупаційна адміністрація все робила правильно - тоді ви підете під три чорти і цикл ресентименту продовжиться з обох боків.

Ми готові визнати провину наших предків. Ми робимо це регулярно протягом останніх десятиліть. Тепер ваша черга.

Поляки мають однозначно засудити польську окупацію українських земель та злочини польською окупаційної адміністрації проти українського народу. Тоді і лише тоді це буде сприйматися як реальне бажання примирення між народами.

Але поки поляки ставлять себе у позицію жертви, не визнаючи власної відповідальності за десятиліття системною політики по знищенню української нації на окупованих Польщею землях - побудувати справжній діалог не вдасться.

Бо ми визнаємо свої власні гріхи.
Але час і вам визнати ваші.

І допоки це не станеться - можете залишити свої ордени собі.

The Lessons I Learned from My Dad

I am not the man my father is.
I am trying. Some days closer. Some days farther.
He never sat me down and explained these lessons. He lived them. I’m still learning them.

Show up.
The kitchen table. The hospital room. The funeral. The picket line. The call from the son who won’t answer.
Show up.
Most days that’s the whole job.
My whole life I watched him do it. Not for cameras. Not for headlines. Not because there was something in it for him. He showed up because someone needed him.

I learned that grief doesn’t make you special.
My father buried a wife and daughter. He buried a son. Yet he never treated grief as a claim on other people’s sympathy. Instead, it made him notice theirs.
A mother who lost a child. A father sitting beside a hospital bed. A kid scared about what comes next. A son who lost his mother, his sister, his brother.
He always noticed.

I learned that power is not the point.
The people who chase power eventually confuse the office with themselves.
My father never did.
Whether he was a county councilman, a senator, vice president, or president, he was the same man.
The title changed.
He didn’t.

I learned that family comes first.
The train from Wilmington wasn’t symbolism.
It was every night.
He read to us. Showed up to games. Sat through hospital rooms. Waited up for children who were lost.
And when the day came that the country and the family could not both have him at full strength, he chose family. He relinquished the last chapter of how he wanted to be remembered. And he never complained about it.

Most of all, I learned that love is not soft.
Love is discipline.
Love is showing up at one in the morning when nobody is watching.
Love is answering the phone.
Love is staying.
Love is getting back up after life knocks you down and doing it all again tomorrow.
That love saved my life.
I’ve failed at many of these lessons, sometimes in very public ways.
He loved me anyway.

That’s the last lesson.
I am not trying to become my father.
I am trying to carry what he gave me.
And if I can do that, even imperfectly, that will be enough.

Yesterday, the President of Poland noted that the Order of the White Eagle is not an ordinary award. It is a symbol of the highest trust of the Republic of Poland. It signifies a special bond with the Polish state and the special gratitude of the Polish People. Such a symbol requires not only merit, but also respect for the values that form the foundation of our community.

Therefore, if it is considered that this special symbol may remain with Catherine II, Benito Mussolini, and Gerhard Schröder, then we in Ukraine will not argue with that.

Ukraine is grateful to the Polish People for their support and cooperation, which play a significant role in the struggle for our and your independence from Russia.

Ukraine never forgets solidarity and understands that cooperation between states and peoples in our region is one of the tangible security guarantees for Ukrainians and for each neighboring state.

Ukraine will continue to defend itself in this war unleashed by Russia, and we will undoubtedly achieve a dignified peace.

Ukraine is grateful to all peoples, states, and leaders who will continue to stand with us in the defense of freedom and who, together with Ukraine, will serve as guarantors of postwar peace in Europe and a new, real security.

Ukraine will remain open to all meaningful formats of engagement with Poland in order to try to avoid conflicting interpretations of the difficult and painful chapters of our shared past and to ensure proper respect for all innocent victims of the 20th century.

And Ukrainians are doing everything in our power to ensure that Europe does not suffer defeat in this century.

I am proud of our people and of EVERY Ukrainian warrior – of the millions of Ukrainian men and women who deserve unquestionable respect for the heroism the Ukrainian People have shown in defending themselves against Russian aggression.

We believed that the Order of the White Eagle, awarded in 2023, was meant for the Ukrainian People and our army. That is what was said at the time. Today, I sent the Order back to the President of Poland.

I believe the future will confirm the respect Ukrainians deserve.

Considering my partial Polish roots, I’ve spent a long time thinking about what to write regarding the Ukrainian-Polish scandal, and the crisis in our relations as a whole. But I doubt I could ever say it better than Oleksandr Zinchenko. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and much can be said about the solutions, but we must remember the core truth - without Poland, Ukraine will be weaker, and without Ukraine, so will Poland. 👇

Why is the Polish right-wing turning hostile? Historian Oleksandr Zinchenko argues that it’s not about past UPA history - it’s about fear of Ukraine’s rising geopolitical power. The Polish right realizes that Russia is losing, and they are terrified of Ukraine’s growing agency. Poland is currently acting as a "Traumaland" - making past fears and historical scars the cornerstone of its national identity instead of processing them.

To overcome this crisis and stop mutual re-traumatization, Zinchenko proposes a comprehensive 7-step roadmap for reconciliation:

1. A Liturgy of Mutual Forgiveness - Ukraine should invite the next President of Poland to Kyiv for a joint prayer service at the historic St. Sophia Cathedral. The cornerstone of this spiritual reconciliation must be the powerful formula: "We forgive and ask for forgiveness."

2. Acknowledging Geopolitical Errors - The Polish leadership needs to declare that opposing Ukrainian independence in 1918-1921 was the single greatest mistake in our shared history. That division cost Ukraine millions of lives under Soviet rule, cost Poland hundreds of thousands, and directly led to Poland losing its own statehood in 1939. When we stand apart, we both fall.

3.Humanizing All Victims - We must stop dividing historical pain. A joint declaration should state: "All victims of our tragic past are neither strictly Polish nor Ukrainian - they are ours, they are human." Every act of ethnic cleansing committed in the 20th century by either side must be unconditionally condemned. The tragic deaths of children in Sahryn are no different from those in Wola Ostrowiecka.

4. Breaking the 80-Year Memorial Taboo - Both Presidents must jointly lay flowers at the historical conflict sites - specifically in Sahryn (Poland) and Ostrówki / Wola Ostrowiecka (Ukraine). Despite decades of Ukrainian urgings, no Polish president in over 80 years has taken this step. This historical omission must be corrected.

5. De-anonymizing the Tragedy - We need to move from abstract numbers to human faces. Ukraine and Poland should cooperate to research and publish a complete, nominal list of every single victim of the bilateral conflict, printed in both languages. Every individual must be remembered by name.

6. Agreeing to Disagree on National Pantheons - We must accept that our national heroes will never be the same. Poland must recognize that Ukrainian heroes are not Polish, and Ukraine must recognize that Polish heroes are not Ukrainian. Ukraine will not challenge the legacy of Piłsudski or Dmowski (who allied with Bolsheviks against Ukrainian statehood), and Poland must stop targeting those who fought for Ukraine's independence. We both fought for our freedom. We both won it. Period.

7. Ironclad Mutual Security Guarantees - A new strategic paradigm: Ukraine, possessing the most battle-hardened and powerful military on the European continent, will legally guarantee and actively defend Poland’s sovereignty. In return, Poland, as a major European power, will unconditionally support Ukraine’s integration and its diplomatic efforts for a just, lasting peace.

Ukraine has conquered its own existential fears on the battlefield. Now, we are strong enough to help Poland overcome its historical anxieties. By executing this roadmap, both nations can finally shed the baggage of the 20th century and build an unbreakable, equal alliance for the future.
