As events in Israel unfold, it is imperative that law enforcement agencies around the globe remain vigilant. Jewish communities and institutions, as well as Israelis traveling abroad, may face heightened risks during this period. Taking proactive and preventative measures now is essential to ensure their safety and security. The gravity of the situation demands our utmost attention and action.
Canada strongly condemns the current terrorist attacks against Israel. These acts of violence are completely unacceptable. We stand with Israel and fully support its right to defend itself. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this. Civilian life must be protected.
The venom and violence of antisemitism will not be the story of our time.
Today, I'm releasing the most ambitious and comprehensive U.S. government-led effort to combat antisemitism in history.
Allow me to lay it out:
@WhistlerBlckcmb disappointed with my first day in the hills. We were skiing off Symphony and the lift was closed due to high winds. No alternatives were provided beyond a 1.25 km uphill hike with skis. This was not easy for anyone nevermind my senior father who I was skiing with
@LevittMichael An excellent question. I am proud to say that I and a Jewish colleague of mine are co-chairs of our firm’s DEI committee. There should be more firms like ours.
I just want to make a few things clear:
The Holocaust happened.
Hitler was a demonic figure.
And instead of giving it a platform, our political leaders should be calling out and rejecting antisemitism wherever it hides.
Silence is complicity.
This heartbreaking thread is important for all of us to read and understand. Jews across the world feel so uneasy that every person who walks into a synagogue must be considered a threat. Imagine if that same standard applies to the Saint Peters, Notre Dame, or Westminster Abbey
My heart is breaking. I received the following email yesterday, which i post with permission. Please no snarky remarks on what you -sitting in your warm houses (Primo Levi, The Shema) - would have done. Just pray you never have 2 make such a decision. We live on tenterhooks 1/6
