Kira Noir said becoming a stripper was never part of her plan. She recalled being a self-described “nerd” in high school who was heavily involved in church, explaining that she spent most of her time trying to be the “good girl” and had a very different lifestyle before leaving home at 18.
After moving to St. Louis for a boyfriend, Kira said she quickly discovered he was struggling with debt and wasn’t contributing financially. Looking for a way to earn money, she decided to try stripping after hearing that new dancers often made the most in tips. She ended up winning the night’s prize money and was immediately offered a contract. What she originally saw as a temporary way to make ends meet soon became a full-time career after realizing she could earn far more than she would at a minimum wage job.
