Meet the first western educated person in Zaria, Muhammadu Aminu Sambo.
Muhammadu Aminu Sambo, born in 1888 in Zaria, was a grandson of Tajo who is a son to Mallam Musa, the flag bearer of Shehu Usman Dan Fodio and founder of the then Islamic ruling dynasty in the Zazzau Emirate.

Last night, the Kiswah, the beautifully embroidered black cloth that covers the Holy Kaaba, was replaced in keeping with the longstanding tradition. The Kiswah is traditionally replaced on the eve of the Islamic New Year, marking the beginning of a new Hijri year with a profound symbol of renewal and devotion.
