@duncanjthomas @nicholadrummond Standard 5.56 generally means a lighter rifle. High pressure 5.56 or larger calibers means heavier working parts. FN prices all that in straight out of the box. I do fully expect to see a heavier NARP very soon tho’! Right now, it’s unclear how the HK guns fit into the HP thing.

@BigTman18 @War_Radar2 @grok The 416 isn’t as popular as HK wants people to think. It got the Bundeswehr job because HK claimed a patent infringement on the first winner, C.G. Haenel. It lost Hunter and took legal action again after losing to Beretta (Sako), in Finland. The French are a bit meh about it too!

@BigTman18 @War_Radar2 @grok Everything’s gone quiet since the ARKA reveal. The hard tendering paperwork will be happening right now. Who knows who’ll get the nod, but the ARKA & NARP are state of the art designs, with existing manufacturing backing up FN’s bid. The HK416 used to be SOTA too…20 years ago.

@R07_ARKROYAL_VT Definitely do it! I think it’s down to HK 416, Beretta NARP, Sako ARG, FN ARKA and maybe SIG MCX Light. they’re the only ones who can set up a factory in the UK (that’s essential it seems). Knights isn’t prepared to do that with the Stoner.

@R07_ARKROYAL_VT Bullpups exist for a reason, that’s for sure! That rifle is stunning (best rifle name ever), but way too gucci for the masses 😄. Did you know that the Beretta NARP has been added as a purchasable procurement item for UK police authorities? They kept that one quiet!
