As athletes we usually push off the toes because we’re used to exploding but the toes are only the follow through. theyre the support system.
the big muscles are the butt and hamstrings. thats what gets used during the lift off phase. The support muscles are the thighs (knees) and calves (toes). thats why when youre overusing the toes your knees will hurt. theyre not meant for the whole load, only the end part once you have momentum
today i did legs with this in mind, staying on the heels and balls of my feet rather than my toes and it felt like i got a huge relief of pressure and a way better muscle workout (dont feel it in my joints at all)
