Anyone else noticing this?
The other day I went to a flea market in NYC called Alfargo's Marketplace.
- It was for men's vintage clothes
- hosted monthly
- The guys who started it...like 4 young 20 somethings (pic below)
- It was PACKED
- hosted at a cool co-working space
- had so much buzz leading up to and at the event. Everyone was welcoming and nice.
I looked up a bunch of the vendors and people there.
Dozens of influencers who have +100k followers on instagram, promoting the event as a hang and "we'll be there selling cool stuff".
Most of the people there were wearing suits, ties and other vintage stuff.
And surprisingly, very diverse crowd. It was not mostly white dudes. All colors. And a super young crowd. Mostly early 20's. I would not have guessed that.
Why this interests me:
- Millennial hipsters basically just disappeared. I'm pretty sure vintage, flea market suit/tie is the hipster for gen z. That's pretty cool
- I also think this is actually a trend happening. Men caring about dressing nicely, buying vintage. And potentially a bigger market than I thought
