No. What I believe is, the belt gave him a security to walk away. As champ, a no-contest is the ultimate soft landing, you keep the belt, avoid a loss on your record, and get a free rematch. If Aspinall was a challenger, the pressure to push through might’ve been higher to avoid fading into irrelevance.
@ryanhulme4ever @muhammadmokaev I agree, but my point again is, I still think he would have hung in there a little longer if he was challenging for the belt instead.
