I’m going to be taking off the rest of the 2025 VCT season to rest up and recharge. I may return to competing again in the future but that isn’t something I’m putting much thought into right now.
2024 was a very busy year for me. I relocated to EMEA for bootcamp just days after GC Champs ended and that grind has been catching up to me. I’ve also been dealing with some personal and family emergencies through Kick/off and Split 1. My teammates have been very supportive of me during this time but I want them to be able to focus on Split 2 without any interruptions.
This was very much my decision and not that of Apeks, our coaching staff, etc. Several other VCT teams even showed interest in buying out my contract these last couple weeks and Apeks told me I could explore those options for Split 2 if anything made me happy and allowed me to continue competing. I’m sharing this because I’d really like to ask the community and fans to avoid directing negative comments toward Apeks. They really did prioritize my happiness and career in every decision they’ve made this year.
The relocation to EMEA was very challenging and I didn’t always feel at home while in Germany but I want to quickly thank Apeks management and my teammates who all welcomed and supported me over the last few months. Also, thank you to Riot ops and the other pros in VCT EMEA who have all been really kind to me and go out of their way to make sure I’m doing well.
My experience over the past three weeks. Im simply going to describe how I felt and what experienced.
Match vs. M8.
The first thing I said to goked was that I would have liked to play this match under normal conditions because I believe the match wasn’t fair for both teams. They lost all their momentum on Haven, and maybe if there hadnt been such a long pause "which allowed us to fully reset" we could have lost 1st map. So i would like to play again vs them but in normal conditions in the future.
Match vs. FUT.
Some pauses again and a pistol round being replayed for some strange reason. Once more, pauses disrupted the game flow for both teams. At least there weren’t as many as there were in the match against M8.
Match vs. Liquid.
What happened today should serve as a lesson, and hopefully lead to major rule changes. In round 3, suygetsu’s PC started lagging during a clutch, which heavily impacted the 1v1 situation. In round 5, during our B split, we LITERALLY HAD FREEZES in-game for 1–2 seconds, players were teleporting. In a 3v2 situation in the same round, we were experiencing problems that directly affected the round’s outcome.
And what was the response we got after these two episodes? According to the rulebook, there’s a rule that says “IF YOU TOOK DAMAGE BEFORE THE ISSUE STARTED, THE ROUND COUNTS AS PLAYED.”
Let me translate this for you: If you lost 1 HP and let’s say you’re now in a 5v4, and because of technical issues you lose the round it will still be counted in your opponents’ favor, based on that rule.
Maybe im not writing this perfectly and ifc im a bit emotional admins just doing their job according the rules but and im not here to say Liquid didn’t deserve to win the first map. The fact is as a team we feel a deep sense of unfairness when we see that in similar cases with other teams the ruling has gone in their favor and rounds have been rolledback.
P.S.
We have already spoken with the EMEA officials responsible for running the league, and I want to thank them for being willing to talk and explain everything. We voiced our concerns and the need for rules to be improved for the sake of all teams.
I truly don’t care whether the match is 0–1 or 0–0 everything I wrote above is just my personal opinion and experience over the last three weeks.
And finally, huge respect to the admins, especially our admin today who stood behind us your genuinely awesome. Thank you for helping us get through this game day.
