Curse my own home country, it truly made me suffer of hardships that no other country on earth puts on people already in a state of abuse/neglect ... all problems I ever had were arbitrary that others never even considered, and instead focused rightfully on the actual problems.
Games have become so slop or otherwise mid that for most of them the BEST way to experience them is just by watching a Long Play xD
'Tis a shame, cuz most people making them are both passionate and talented, but "somewhere" along the creation process they lose almost all value.
Looking back, for the majority of my life I wasn't even a person. Not to the people around me, and not even to myself, because no one ever told me I had that right to life, as well as all the others that people just take for granted.
All the people around me are living or building towards their respective dreams, while I only knew nightmares that grew the more horrid and absurd with age and eventually made me unable to relate with anyone, and vice-versa.
@andrewpprice "A" solution, because A) it will be made obsolete by the next trained one. and B) It still weights gigabytes and uses multiple servers worth of computing, just to "maybe" get it right.
The best used for AI I found is to summarize 1 hour long tutorials and essays xD ( the irony )
@andrewpprice Too bad a bunch of people's laziness/greed costed us a worse job market, a worse tech economy and worse environmental pollution levels.
But hey, now Little Timmy with Dad's bank account can prompt slop and submerge actual good products, while his Dad can hire even less people.
@andrewpprice AI ( as much as I am able to understand it ) is just effectively a brute force creation of a virtual processing unit.
We have equations ... we can already create the desired output ... but we just use multiple countries worth of PIL and manpower to find "a" Solution.
@ChordNitewalker@Wario64 In an ideal world, all the games we already have there have a priviledged highway to stay there in the luna cloud offering,
while POTENTIALLY earn even more money, since Ubisoft and GOG are removed from the revenue split and negotiations.
3 months notice is nice as well
@ChordNitewalker@Wario64 Honestly,
(assuming they are going strong, and not wanting to end the service)
This would mean Amazon would DIRECTLY engage with developers,
instead of onteracting with companies that honestly, might want to both offer a cloud solution of their own AND want to profit from it.
@amazonluna No one will see this, but Akatosh hold me, why on earth did suddently the design of every modern app from complex ones to mobile games assumes the user has a super CPU able to compile 1000 different materials in less than 10 milliseconds? like, who decided that?
@amazonluna please roll back the update on your machines usig directx12/vulkan.
JIT compilation is messing up gameplay.
That, or force a shader warmup ... although triggering it for every game that might use their own solutions would be a challange for me infividually.
@amazonluna Expecially since these new optimizations only are truly needed for new games to barely run as they are xD, ... and not old games that ran fine for decades without them.
@amazonluna it is just a giant shame, becuase such stutters then cause inputs to be discarded, making the situation even worse.
having to rotate the camera 360 degrees every time i enter a new area is just not acceptable.
I don't have a proper education, so I hope I described the issue correctly.
The problem is shaders ( or better the GPU programs that are actually used for each vertex stream) are being generated the first time an object is rendered, and stall the game. micro-stutters all over :(
@SquareEnix kindly bring FF XV and XVI on Amazon Luna :)
@CapcomEurope kindly bring Dragon's Dogma 2 on Amazon Luna.
All these amazing games deserve to be played by all of us that "would" support you but the rig requirements are too high.
This is industry wide, and not just related to software but other industries as well.
Sad to see ... but a challange and healthy reminder that things are only as good as we make them through effort and sacrifice ... however wasted those may be.
The offline tech is made inefficient and expensive to push you to rely on online solutions,
while the online solutions are then stripped down to force you to pay and ever increasing amount, for a service that only gets worse, hoping you have too much invested to quit. ;-;
