Just because a student does not raise their hand, does not mean that they are not thinking deeply about the content. We need to broaden what we mean by engagement in our classrooms/schools. This will invite/value more students in the learning process.

Today we completed a positive affirmations activity! We sat in a circle and tossed a ball of yarn to someone and affirmed them. We continued this process until everyone had a chance to get affirmed, creating a web effect. The students really felt loved and appreciated. π€
Preparing for my last certification exam, the EC-6 Core Content. Open to any study tips because I am aiming to pass all subjects the first go around. I test at the end of the month! π

@mburnsmath This semester in Mathematics for Elementry School II at the University of Houston, a group of peers and I were able to dive into Welcome to Math Class and discuss the rich and engaging content you wonderfully explained. We walked away with many skills and strategies
