@venikunche I like the idea of trying to make interviewing less biased (obv) and I think that is the goal of using a third party interviewer like karat but as someone who has a hard time coding with someone watching and not speaking, it really was hard for me to show my skills.

@venikunche I have done two interviews with Karat that were more like tech screens. It was odd because the interviewer wasn’t allowed to participate much so I felt like I was just taking a test with someone watching. I would have preferred just taking a timed test.

the thing is that it's SO NORMAL to make it 5 or 10 or 15 years in your programming career without learning something that seems "basic" about how a computer thing works. And it's both:
1. good to learn some of these "basic" things
2. totally okay to not have learned it yet!
