Today marked a significant step in our collective journey towards a safer and more empowered future for the women of Taraba State. In collaboration with The Agyin Kefas Care Trust Foundation and the Taraba State Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development, I had the honor of officially launching the 2023 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence.
The theme for this year is powerful: UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls. Together, we embark on a mission to create a community where every woman and girl feels secure, valued, and free from harm.
As part of our commitment to women’s development, I am thrilled to share that, in collaboration with Solar Sister Nigeria, we have empowered 50 women as Solar Sister entrepreneurs across the state. This initiative not only promotes economic growth but also underscores our dedication to sustainable practices and women’s empowerment.
Our journey is far from over. The fight against gender-based violence remains a top priority. I am unwavering in my commitment to the growth and development of the women of Taraba State. Together, let’s continue to stand against gender-based violence and work towards a future where every woman can thrive.
