Neonatal fellow. Mother of two plus one. Love breastfeeding, good bereavement care, medicines safety, teaching. Cats, cricket, holidays, wine, musical theatre.
@huwzat Can you push the B&H style SF and final a week later to coincide with half term? Kids are already raging at how much cricket they miss due to school!
@SophieHowles F1, same. Will fly on holiday immediately post nights. Reg in my 40s, the kids wonder if I can come off nights so I'm not so grumpy for the next few days.
@doctor_dru_ Maybe they are just trying to justify why they couldn't do paeds π€·ββοΈ
To be fair, I'd say something negative about grown up medicine if someone I liked working with was deserting the good ship neonates for another specialty. We need all the friends we can get!
@doclauravater Because a yoga session at 11am on a Wednesday when I'm the only reg on the unit, the ward round is only half done, and I'm carrying the bleep isn't doing anything for my wellbeing. Or perhaps I should attend in my own time?
@dieracg You're very welcome to call me too, but you'll have to hold the neonatal bleep, and you'll end up with a yellow in the foot, secured with a teddy bear sticker :)
@DrLindaDykes Not for the purposes of increasing K+, but I eat a little (and often). Nice to know my brownies might have additional health benefits π
@walsh_joe A spreadsheet, and a hierarchy of shifts for emergency pickups (neonates at 0.8 and husband away with work frequently). Good nursery keyworkers who can want extra hours. Then I left training π
@DrNickTwit Rolling rotas are so rarely nice to work on - building my own rota to prioritise continuity (lacking on 2016 contract) and bespoke childcare needs is how to keep me working and happy.
@wesstreeting Wes, I don't want to work more weekends thanks. I want to hang out with my family. I would like the shifts I work to be well-staffed, so we can give the best care to our patients all the time.
