After my husband had a 10lb tumor removed from his colon (in an area of the colon that was especially difficult too), the surgeon obviously prescribed meds for post op. When we got home and went to the pharmacy, we were told they had not been ordered because Medicare needed a prior authorization. Apparently there was a mis match in the way the meds were packaged vs the Rx written and since the package was more tablets in the package than prescribed, it could not be approved. The pharmacy would lose out because they could not re sell the remainder. They weren’t comfortable covering the cost and so were waiting on the approval. It was the day before the weekend. Naturally, everything shuts down for two days. We were given the choice to pay $1500 or wait, possibly up to a week for the auth and leave my husband in a painful and potential life-threatening situation.

My husband had successfully come through gnarly surgery, only to have his life threatened by this absurd system.

Why, as Americans do we put up with this bullshit?

Everyone involved and profiting from this and causing patients andctheir familes such stress and loss should be strung up by their genitals. 🤬

Seriously. How can we stand ourselves for doing this? Anyone can see the pain and fear here. Are we really this devoid of any kind of feeling? I just don’t understand how people are ok with this. This is a failure in our system and our society.

May all who support and engage in this return as captives, so as to experience the exact same treatment themselves.

No. I refused and was kicked out of Biology class. It followed me too. My Physics teacher left one on my desk and made fun of it.

An early indication that some of us are just not willing to be factory fodder.

It’s a shame that schools do this. We all could be so much further along.

I understand and accept that some of us have to eat meat. Genetically speaking, it is an actual requirement for some of us. I wish it wasn’t so, and hopefully, we can evolve past it. But, in the meantime, why the hell do we feel the need to treat life which sustains our own with such disrespect? We honestly do not deserve any of it.

The irony. When we briefly needed help, (a working family with a newly disabled spouse and father, a 4 year old child, a spouse who gave up a career to care for the disabled spouse after finding out no help would be granted. We were literally turned away. I was advised to go beg on the street).

Seemingly, though, benefits are handed out like candy? This happens?

I don’t doubt it, but believe me, I would dearly like to get to the bottom of it. I am incensed as someone who has always worked, never asked for help, but when we really needed it, we were turned away. I shall not soon forget what we endured. The fact we rose above is fortunate for us, but this situation needs a thorough looking over!

@Protect_Wldlife All our passed on pets lived with us till the end. Old, grey, arthritic, and grumpy sometimes. We were there throughout, as they were with us. Not one was abandoned nor loved any less. No true human could do anything less. ❤️

This would be bad enough if there wasn’t footage of what was said before. It’s not “fake news”. It’s not “AI”. The fact is, we all know what was said, when it was said, and it only makes this all the more upsetting.

There is zero respect, zero responsibility.

Bottom line, those with money to spare are ok with making fuck ups, because it doesn’t hurt them. But it quickly and directly affects the citizens working hard hours to cover basic living.

If we all were in a position to buy an island, a car, or go out for dinner any more, it would be a different matter.

However, most are trying to simply hang on. There is simply not the luxury of time.

Well, aside from the fact that most honest folks only utilize insurance for a legitimate purpose, and even then, as a last resort because, heaven forbid, you have to try and negotiate (with a boss) to take time off, without risk of retaliation, or from losing earnings and future good faith from being closed (if you’re self employed), so you can spend hours waiting in the doctors’s office, spending money you don’t have, (and quite likely, then having to return, or be referred to a “specialist” for another appointment 3 to 6 months out because you’re a new patient, for whatever body part is causing concern), what’s the actual point here?

That somehow, it should be taken away from folks when it’s not used?

So, we’re dammed if we do, and dammed (or possibly dead), if we don’t.

If any one of us went for repeated tests like this for fun, we would be accused of wasting resources.

If you don’t need treatment, you shouldn’t be taking up the time that is needed for someone who actually has a medical concern needing treatment.

If you do need treatment, you should get it.

If you are responsible for the lives if others, and you are unwell, you should say so.

It’s not complicated.
