We’ve normalized documenting everything and it’s okay with me, to some extent but some moments should remain sacred.
A little empathy, a little conscience that’s all it takes to put the phone down and remember that it’s someone’s loved one.
It really touches me seeing someone lose their life or in a difficult situation and instead of people protecting the dignity of that moment, phones come out to record the body, the grief, the family’s pain.
When I think about death, I drift into thoughts of the barzakh, where I’ll embrace my dad once more insha Allah, and how he’ll be amazed at how much I’ve grown.
Majnun replied; I am searching for my beloved Laila, and my heart is so full of her that I did not see you at all.
You, however, claim to be in the presence of the Almighty, the Lord of all and yet you saw me. Tell me, then, which of us is more absent from our beloved?
When I think of love, a specific episode of Laila and Majnun(Qais) comes to mind;
He was wandering in the desert, searching desperately for Laila. He walked straight across a man performing his Salah without realizing it

The love I have for my cousins is immeasurable! Our mothers did a great job getting us close. It’s a shame our kids are now second cousins and are not as close, our relationship is a gem💕
met someone who used to be so religious but she's lost rn & it's really sad & scary. also made me realize that it's not by our own doing, it's only because of Allah's mercy & guidance, I pray she finds her way back & I pray we always find our way back to Allah swt no matter the
There’s a Hausa proverb; (saabo tirken wawa) which makes me think about how unappreciative we are of a lot of things we have(health, wealth, people in our corner etc).
Just because it’s constant doesn’t mean we can’t lose it.
I have an amazing house help, great with kids, knows when I’m not in the mood. May Allah continue to make us happy with eachother. InshaaAllah we have many more years together 💕
Last week, my sister called me by 3:52am to break the news of our elder sister’s death(Allah ya jiqanta). Today she called me by 5 while I was praying and my heart quickly sank.
It’ll definitely take a while before I become desensitized by the early morning calls.
