So, I think once I get back from my trip I’m gonna be focusing on my content creation heavily. I’m in a much better mental state now, and hopefully it’ll show in my streams.
I also have a couple job interviews lined up for when I get home, hopefully I get one of them. 🙏 I’ve been job hunting for ages. I WANT TO HAVE MONEY SO I CAN BUY MORE ART (I also have plans for something big this year, but I need $$$ for it. And no, I’m not telling you what it is yet.)
I also do have some sort of game plan for content when I get home. I’ll be finishing my 100% run of Final Fantasy X. Ideally in time for the 25th anniversary in July. And I’ll also be grinding out Wuthering Waves as I’ve recently gotten back into that, and we have the edgerunners collab coming soon. I have to get my girlies. And I will be playing Destiny 2 on the 9th for one last hurrah. As that game means a lot to me on a personal level.
More updates to come soon. 💕
And because I forgot to put it in my essay, eastern dragons are indeed chimeras.
According to Han dynasty scholar Wang Fu, a true celestial Eastern dragon is a composite of nine different beasts.
ANTLERS of a stag
Head of a camel (or crocodile) [these are vastly different things, I wonder if it’s a translation thing]
Eyes of a demon (or rabbit) [again is this a translation thing?]
Neck of a snake
Belly of a clam (or frog/tortoise) [translation??]
Scales of a carp
Claws from an Eagle
Paws from a Tiger
Ears of an Ox
Ok so buckle up,
My determination is Antlers. Several reasons.
Eastern dragons are considered “genderless” OR heavily tied to the Yang element which represents masculinity. There is a specific cosmological pairing in folklore that pairs the Dilong(earth dragon) with Yin due to the Dilong being tied to the lower earth and water, which are feminine elements. And they matter exclusively with Sky/Celestial Dragons. [Lots of sources here with information that does not line up, some say the Dilong in this specific pairing do not have antlers, some say they do have antlers]
Horns, typically both male and female of whatever species have these. Horns have a boney core, but are covered with keratin. And they are usually unbranched and curved. Think of goats and sheep.
Antlers, typically only males of the species have these(with the exception of caribou.) Antlers are entirely made of bone, these usually branch out. Think of deer.
TLDR;
Shape wise = Antlers
Based on what I could find stating dragons are usually genderless & associated with Yang(masculine energy) = Antlers, due to the few accounts of female subspecies not having them
