@worksalt@wildmindai Aren’t they trying to use inferior or broken datasets to show how far it can push things? Did you try it or just judging from examples?
@jonstephens85 I love kitchen and apartment scans. It really tests the capability of the photographer, camera, settings, reconstruct software, sfm. This looks incredible! Would you mind sharing the typical question? How many shots. What did you use to shoot. Hardware. Software etc? Thank you
@skara_io@MattNiessner@angelaqdai I think if AI hallucinations are more precisely going where the scan had missing information, in a contextual and subtle way, it would be quite worth it.
Maybe Meta is doing this with Hyperscape?
@andreysuperior Hmm this is nonsense and lies. Not sure where you copied it from but Luma AI doesn’t provide a service like this. It also seems like he is using lidar. That spinning thing is shooting lasers and determining more precise distances. The file needs a bunch of proper processing too
@2012apocalypsis Im going to lose so many precious worlds and scans of transient structures, some of which are now gone. I really hope they show mery and allow backups of the scans
@1tbTUhcyDo17370@7_eito_7 This hasn’t been available to anyone so far. Its captured by Schindelar and I think he used a Portalcam to scan it. About 5000 dollars camera with LIDAR. Nothing is AI here. It’s using gaussian splats
