@goodlobster1 I have no idea if they've ever met, but this picture is fake. It has been AI-generated to insert Jacinda Ardern netxt to Qiulae Wong.

@aniobrien@liberosisnow Nonsense. He’s a social democrat working inside a capitalist system. In power, he partnered with centre-right allies, boosted private agribusiness to record profits, and made private banks richer, using tax revenue to fund welfare, not destroy free markets.
@berniesoares Norway’s fund succeeded because it had an immense, state-owned oil windfall (excess cash it couldn't spend domestically without causing inflation). NZ doesn't have a massive surplus commodity to tax. So NZ would either have to raise taxes significantly or borrow to invest it.
@sumosjp@bobmccoskrienz@NZStuff That doesn't mean it's about immigration. The protests have morphed into a massive, multi-faceted movement. started as a focused student and teacher strike has effectively merged with several domestic and geopolitical grievances. Labour Unions, the Yellow Vests have also joined.
@BillyBrown1983 France’s protests began over severe teacher shortages & moldy classrooms before merging with Yellow Vests over skyrocketing inflation & a 2027 budget that cuts public services. You know nothing about it, just using France’s crisis to push a migration/muslim scare tactic, as usual
@RadioGenoa It looked exactly like this with the Yellow Vests protests (2018–2019), Pension Reforms & Public Strikes (2023–2024) etc. It's nothing new to France (or Europe for that matter).
@MarkHubbard33 European protest culture is completely different from what NZ has. And France is the undisputed heavyweight champion of European protest culture. Kiwis have no clue.
@berniesoares Freedom of choice, except someone running a business does not have the freedom of choice/the right to choose not to accept cash. And I assume you mean 'protecting the right to use physical cash' for everyone, not just New Zealanders.Or maybe explain who is considered New Zealander?
