Agha Shahid Ali's #Poem is one of displacment as an Indian immigrant to the US.
Thr poem is set in 1948 before he was born. The rest of the poem is a call to an ancestral cosmology in some of the most simple things #Poetry

I have family born in the late 1880's in #Mississipi. I am contemplate the gift of writing as this husband dictates to the mistress of his Master, a letter to be sent to his wife.
