Thwarting the Jordan River Diversion: When Arab states launched a massive project to divert the Jordan River and choke Israel's primary water supply, Cohen obtained the exact canal blueprints and equipment coordinates, enabling Israeli forces to strike the machinery with pinpoint precision.

The Inner Circle: Trusted by senior ministers and military brass, his standing grew so formidable that his name was openly discussed for senior government and diplomatic advisory roles.

Yet the frequency of his transmissions ultimately triggered the trap.

Suspicious over how rapidly high-level decisions were leaking to Israel, Syrian counterintelligence brought in advanced Soviet tracking vans and enforced a total, citywide radio blackout.

When Cohen transmitted his routine morning dispatch, Soviet detection equipment locked onto the solitary signal pulsing through the silence.

Despite intense diplomatic appeals and offers of massive prisoner swaps from Israel, Cohen was publicly executed in Damascus’s Marjeh Square on May 18, 1965.
