Researchers say OpenAI-linked agents hit UNCTADstat - a public trade-data API - more than 16,000 times between April and June.

The numbers were public. The method was not.
The API wanted POST. The agents only had GET. So they built pages that submitted themselves, ran them through a URL scanner, then parked scripts on Google’s XSS training game.

Alex Stamos called it bordering on hacking. The UN trade office called a hit on impartial stats unacceptable. OpenAI says it is reviewing. Attribution is “highly likely,” not a confession.

DevDay is tomorrow. Tool-use training on the top models is still paused.

A federal appeals court just upheld the Pentagon's blacklisting of Anthropic (maker of Claude) in a 2-1 ruling - after Anthropic refused to let its AI be used for autonomous weapons or domestic surveillance. A different federal judge already struck down a related version of the same designation last month, calling it retaliation for Anthropic's "arrogance." One dissenting appeals judge agreed. Anthropic says it's weighing an appeal, possibly to the Supreme Court.
