@KhalilTheSeer I think I won't open Twitter or any social medias for a while and just play the game trying to have as much fun as I can.
There are way too many bitter people in the FGC right now and I just don't want to deal with this.
@HYPER_pachi Fantastic (see what I did there ? 😆) game, you truly made something special with this one !
Glad you stayed true to your vision and I hope the game will succeed so you can give us a lot of costumes, stages and characters for the years to come.
Thanks for your hard work !
I've said it before, but -- particularly the western FGC -- we spend too much time trying to bend games to our will. We want Fighting Games to meet our expectations of how they should play as opposed to trying to appreciate the games given to us.
Marvel Tokon is not Marvel Vs. Capcom. It's not trying to be. And it shouldn't have to. It's trying to be its own thing, and while there are some concerns that stand out as potential things that need to be tweaked (every game has flaws on release), the game having "no mix" or being "too slow" isn't really true. It just doesn't have the pace and "personality" you expect out of a Marvel team-based Fighting Game because of our years of madness from MvC games.
But I think what we saw with the beta is a wonderful start. I love a LOT of what ArcSys is trying to to do with the game. I can see their vision (Vision for DLC confirmed... 😋). And we should judge the game on its own merits as opposed to our want for a new MvC game. I get it: there is a gaping hole that exists right now where an MvC-type game should be. And I don't blame anyone just praying that one shows up.
But I think we have a very strong game at hand for now. I think there's a LOT for us to learn about Marvel Tokon still, and the game has the potential to get degenerate pretty heavily once we have actual time with the game.
As it is, yes, certain things need tweaking. The Chains and Jump Cancels need buffer windows so the combos don't feel so "underwater" as some players are saying, justifiably. The DP motion bug needs fixing because it's irritating AF. I think the Training Mode needs to be better than it was during the beta. Etc. etc.
But I'm looking forward to the game. Can't wait for its official release.
@fightelement They just want another MvC or DBFZ... It's so annoying. Let Tokon be Tokon ffs !
The FGC is full of bitter people right now. So irritating, let the devs cook and if you don't like what Tokon offers, there are a lot of others fighting games on the market.
Personally I loved it.
You really want more than 4 gatling in a game w/ 3 tags (plus active) and no pushblock? You want more block stun? In a game where you get free assists when out of hitstun? One where you lose access to your team synergy if the main defensive mechanic is countered?
Continued...
Sure, make DP's a little easier (input interpreter fixes).
Sure, add some multi-press macros so you don't need a 72 button control scheme.
Yes, why not allow air command normals to be done with up-forward / 9.
Let flys be done with up-forward / 9 hold instead of only up.
Perhaps even lighten the restrictive tag requirements just a tad (like when you make contact, but then chain into another normal).
Of course, PC performance needs work (mostly seems due to intrusive anti-hax). No reason we should be forced to "stream window" instead of application because of the crazy ass measures clearly intended to prevent cracking and data-mining... but that's coming at a huge cost of people even being able to play the game.
But yeah... max 4-hit Gatlings and low blockstun is a real problem? The game is already showing signs of being super oppressive (not saying this is a good or bad thing... just that there is a lot of pressure to be had).
Tokon is its own game. For better or for worse. Perf issues aside (which need to be addressed), can you just let it rock for a bit? Last beta, the game had "no mix", "no sauce". Most level-headed people knew that wasn't true. We said, "we need more time, and a training mode would help". The devs made some really nice adjustments while keeping the core intact. Awesome. Now you get a training mode and it's "need more gatling and blockstun".
It's been like 3 days.
It's like one person said it because they found it strange to not work like other games they enjoy... and then everyone else that wanted to throw shade on the game said "oh yea, I can add that to my list too." You aren't serious. If you are trying to give feedback, then give feedback. Explain why you think that, explain why you think it will be better the other way, think about the ramifications, and then maybe consider why that rule MIGHT be in effect the first place.
For real, though... next thing you know, people will be complaining about the Font.
The feedback they implemented from the last beta was overall pretty good. Generally well received. I hope they continue to listen to feedback while sticking to their overall vision.
... and before anyone gets too worked up:
Not all feedback is good.
Not all feedback is bad.
It's mildly humorous to see people that play some of the "worst" (note the quotes) fighting games imaginable tell us how terrible Tokon is and announce "they won't be playing it". Cool... you have Project L, you have Avatar, and you have every fighting game that has come before it... yet you were still online grinding Tokon. Thanks for the announcement. You contributed!
Engagement farming at its finest. These people are not for real.
Is there stuff worthy of negativity? Absolutely. Is the game beyond reproach? Absolutely not. Are there numerous opportunities for improvement? 100%.
However...
If you really want to contribute, fill out the feedback form. Articulate what you like and don't like. Then hope the team has a strong enough conviction in their ideas to stick to their vision while also realizing that those opportunities for improvement are there.

Sinon tu peux utiliser n'importe quel personnage.
Marvel Tokon is not DBFZ
Marvel Tokon is not MVC3
Marvel Tokon is not 2XKO
Marvel Tokon is not SF6
Marvel Tokon is not Avatar
Marvel Tokon is Marvel Tokon
Soon as y'all realize that not every fighter needs to play the same, you'll learn how to enjoy new things for what they are.
Constant complaints and only complaints are NOT feedback
@MARVELTokon I had a great time with the beta. The game is amazing and I hope you won't change it too much.
The Netcode and the PC version still needs a little bit of work, but other than that, the game is fantastic.
Dans un monde où y a Street Fighter 6, City of the Wolves, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, Avatar Legends et Tokon qui arrive...

REPORT: PC purchases of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls have been blocked in 132 countries.
The game briefly appeared available for pre-order in some of these regions before the locks were applied. This is a massive blow to the global fighting game community and the game’s potential player base. We’ll keep monitoring for any updates or reversals.
