President Isaias Afwerki and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held extensive talks, in new Alamien city earlier today, on the enhancement of bilateral ties, regional and international developments and trends, as well as other matters of mutual interest.
President Isaias Afwerki underlined the convergent positions of Eritrea and Egypt on regional matters; especially in regard to cardinal principles on respect of sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations and non-interreference in their internal affairs.
President Isaias further expressed appreciation for President el-Sisi's efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors and for Egypt's goodwill and readiness to bolster these ties for the benefit of both peoples and countries.
President el-Sisi, on his part, invoked the profound historical and strategic ties that exist between the two countries, and reaffirmed Egypt's readiness to further deepen the prevailing warm bilateral ties through implementation of projects and programmes of economic partnership in priority sectors.
President Isaias will participate in the Summit of Heads of State on collective security, stability and partnership that will be convened in Alamien tomorrow.

Ethiopia’s Deplorable Acts of Hostility
https://t.co/kmkxALIAuG
*"...In reality, it is Ethiopia which has been pursuing an agenda of incessant hostility – in effect, a publicly pronounced declaration of war – against Eritrea for three years in pursuit of 'the imperative of acquiring sovereign access to the sea' through the invasion of sovereign Eritrean ports and coastal areas".
*"...Throughout these trying times, Eritrea has displayed patience and restraint in the hope of averting a dangerous escalation".
*"...In the current circumstances, however, Eritrea has no option but to reciprocate in kind and severe all diplomatic ties with Ethiopia with all the negative corollaries that this entails".
#Eritrea: Statement by FM Osman Saleh at the 50th Annual Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Group of 77 and China
"Eritrea remains committed to genuine multilateralism and cooperation that is based on mutual respect and a dialogue of equal and sovereign nations".

#Eritrea is solemnly commemorating today the 65th Anniversary of the beginning of the Armed Struggle for national liberation and human dignity.
As it will be recalled, a small people and nation had to suffer the ordeals of Africa's longest war of liberation, (1961-1991), simply because their inalienable right to decolonization, the pronounced provisions of international law, were brazenly compromised and subordinated to mollify the geopolitical interests of global powers and their regional surrogate.
In this respect, September 1st, 1961, epitomizes the noble determination, as well as history of resilience and heroism, of a small people who chose not to succumb to injustices and the logic of crude force or military power!

Profile Q & A - “#Eritrea Isn’t Just Surviving; It’s Building Something Unique. The World Should Pay Attention"
By Milka Teklom
*"...I was speechless. Rows upon rows of rusted tanks, artillery, and military vehicles - once belonging to Ethiopia’s arsenal - stretch across the landscape, a stark reminder of conflict and sacrifice. The sheer number and variety of equipment made it clear that external support played a role in the region’s wars. Yet the story that resonated most was not the hardware but the human determination behind the struggle. Learning that Eritreans prevailed in 1991 despite overwhelming odds left a deep impression on me. Standing there, I thought: this is proof of what a people can achieve when they refuse to surrender".
*"...But the most eye-opening part was the Northern Red Sea National Museum. It houses artifacts that trace Eritrea’s ancient civilizations, including the port city of Adulis. Before visiting, I had heard competing claims about Eritrea’s historical relationship with Ethiopia. The museum’s presentation of the Adulis civilization and the archaeological record clarified a lot for me. It showed a distinct, long-standing maritime culture with its own identity and trade networks. Having visited Ethiopia first and heard a particular narrative, the museum provided context and nuance that fundamentally changed my understanding".
*"...I used to hear that Eritrea is isolated, struggling, or dependent. But what I saw was the opposite - a country standing firm on its own. The people are educated, self-sufficient, and fiercely independent. Medeber Market shows how they turn limitations into innovations. Their history proves they’ve always been their own nation. And their hospitality? I felt at home from day one".
*"...Come curious and open-minded. Listen to the stories people tell, visit the museums, walk the streets of Asmara, descend the spiral road to Massawa, and spend time at Medeber if you can. You’ll find a country shaped by struggle and sustained by work, where small acts of sacrifice and ingenuity point toward a hopeful, industrious future".
