The fact that I even saw a single comment complaining about $70 for an art commission is ridiculous. This is massively underselling, especially considering the quality.
@nachofrieskaiju and thats fine!! i think theres a lot of things in the world more valuable that 70 dollars can go to since comms are purely luxury, but 70 for a custom art piece is pretty normal because of the skill and profession. just spend on whatever you value more
@wellingtondraws Again it does depend. Like, some artists literally DO need to undersell to even get comms, but artists with decent popularity and traction are charging like $70+ so I think it literally just depends on how much motion you have lol
@dzafasg Not the point. Refer to the first part of the tweet. Underselling isn't what I'm criticizing, it's the whining about how an artist prices themselves.
@yuukigeist@Verazin_Epyon Yeah but like, that applies to literally anything that's a luxury no? If I can't afford the luxury product I just wont buy the luxury product. I get it's the internet but saying shit like "damn 70 dollars is crazy i can buy like 3 games with that money" is super rude to me
@wellingtondraws Obviously it varies, but people doing online comms in low income countries is why some people can make a living out of this stuff. I think under/over selling is mostly subjective, but I mainly don't like the idea of complaining about 70 when its an extremely common price point
@Ron_BWL I mean first of all its not me, its them lol. Secondly that just wasnt the point of the tweet, but if you think 70 bucks is something to whine about then I suggest you follow your own advice and stop judging an artist's prices lol
