@Lord_Arse Vegetarianism? What's the rationale behind that one I wonder. Not that *any* of it makes sense. But c'mon. I can see people giving up Levitation, Twilight films and Vampirism (there is too much of that going around) but vegetarianism?? That's stretching things a bit IMO.
I watched the Get Lamp documentary last night. If you ever played Level 9 or Infocom games back in the days, you will probably enjoy it. Preferably with a strong coffee because riveting as it is, it's a long slow burn just like a good text adventure.
@Bhaal_Spawn As the clock inched towards 9.30 I knew I had to make an important decision - do I go skydiving or should I read up on Gardening 101? Then I realised it was Sunday and went back to sleep again.
@Al82_Retro@CommodoreBlog BL: I've so many memories of staying up late at night navigating through the labyrinth of caverns, dodging the cute but deadly sprites and whatnots. One of my favourite games on the speccy!
@Pixelengineer_ Never owned one (pentium 2 was my first). But a friend did and the first game we booted up was Doom. On the Pentium 2 I played all kinds of fantastic games like NFS 3, Half-life, No one lives forever, etc. Also discovered the world of emulation and re-visited so many memories!
@RetroGamer_Mag SNES console - because I never owned one but a school mate did and we would stare in awe at Super Mario Bros, Contra and Mega Man. ZX Spectrum computer - because I owned one as a kid and have the fondest memories of it even now. Commando Arcade cabinet - loved the game!
@leelegionsmith Presuming Pac-Man and the ghosts move a very small distance every frame, maybe you need to update distance only every other frame or so. Or stagger the calculations across the ghosts, every game loop. So ghost 1 on loop 1, ghost 2 on loop 2, etc
@DemonTomatoDave@nostalnerd Ah yes, good ol’ Super Test. Happy memories of staying over at friends place (he had a +3 and I had a 48k+), armed with a single joystick and the keyboard (we took turns at the joystick), trying to outdo each other at 3AM in the night. Best times!
Picked up these books since I’m a sucker for retro games. Initially I’d thought of typing in the programs in python as in the books, but I realised this will be a good way to improve my #godotengine skills. So I’m going to write the games in gdscript! #typein#videogames
