Lyrics matter. Itโs apparent some have never listened to BTSโs music. Here is a quick education so people can find the appropriate place to put their judgment bc it doesnโt belong with BTS. A ๐งต
Group songs: https://t.co/mIlrW2icZq
๐๐ฝ N.O - You donโt get to design our lives for us.
๐๐ฝ Cypher Pt.2 - You donโt determine whether we deserve to be here.
๐๐ฝ Cypher Pt.3 - Your criticism isnโt going to make us shrink.
๐๐ฝ Whalien 52 - You can hear us without actually understanding us.
๐๐ฝ FIRE - Weโre going to live regardless of judgment.
๐๐ฝ Am I Wrong - A crowd agreeing with itself doesnโt automatically make the crowd right.
๐๐ฝ BTS Cypher 4 - Your judgment of me does not become my judgment of myself.
๐๐ฝ Pied Piper - Love us, but please have boundaries. Your relationship with BTS should not consume your own life.
๐๐ฝ MIC Drop - Youโre going to talk about us regardless. Keep talking.
๐๐ฝ Fake Love - If maintaining your love requires becoming what you demand, what exactly are you loving?
๐๐ฝ So What - Not every opinion about our lives requires a response.
๐๐ฝ IDOL - You donโt get to tell us who we are.
๐๐ฝ Black Swan - This life and its expectations can actually damage our relationship with the thing we love most: music.
๐๐ฝ ON - Judgment isnโt disappearing. We still have to move.
๐๐ฝ UGH! - Anger can begin somewhere legitimate and still become destructive outrage.
๐๐ฝ Respect - Claiming to respect somebody and actually respecting their autonomy are not necessarily the same thing.
๐๐ฝ Dis-ease - Even stopping and simply existing has become difficult.
๐๐ฝ Yet To Come - What weโve already been does not dictate everything weโre going to become.
๐๐ฝ Hooligan - We arenโt obligated to remain inside everybody elseโs definition of acceptable.
๐๐ฝ Aliens - Youโre judging an existence you have never lived.
๐๐ฝ 2.0 - Weโre allowed to change.
๐๐ฝ NORMAL - You say you want us to have normal lives, but what happens when we actually behave like normal human beings?
๐๐ฝ they donโt know โbout us - You know BTS. That doesnโt mean you know everything about Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi, Hobi, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook.
๐๐ฝ Into The Sun - And after everybody has had their opinion, weโre still going forward.
KIM NAMJOON AND JHOPE DON'T YOU DARE TO APOLOGISE !!!!!!
#BTS just LIVE your life, you have already given lots to this society and fans ๐ซถ๐ป
I PURPLE YOU ๐
#ARMYSTANDWITHBTS
this fake activism from certain people is getting boring; โi can consume Coca-Cola but BTS canโt,โ โi can use Ai but BTS canโt,โ โi can listen to this music but BTS canโtโ umm NO. BTS arenโt some dolls you can make act at your will, theyโre human beings who DONโT owe you shit!!
Iโm about to sound fucking ancient but fandom etiquette is truly dead because none of the younger people give a single fuck about keeping things in *FANDOM SPACES.* Twitter is NOT a fandom space. Instagram is NOT a fandom space. You ruin things for everyone and then act confused.
Hopefully you all still remember this
๐จ There was never any intention or purpose of insulting anyone. Itโs just a song, okay? Iโm not apologizing, Iโm simply saying, believe my words instead of just guessing, pretending, and making assumptions, okay?
Did namseok congratulate the abuser for hurting someone? No. Were namseok there when the violence happened? No. Did namseok abuse anyone? No. Does listening to the music of an abuser make a person abusive? No. Does it support the violence? No. Are namseok evil? No.
The immediate backlash online against some of the BTS members J-Hope and Namjoon simply for attending an R&B concert and taking a picture with Chris Brown is a prime example of internet moral policing gone completely overboard. The toxic narrative trying to paint two grown men as suddenly "problematic" or "supporting abuse" because they met up with a massive musical contemporary is exhausting, hypocritical, and completely disconnected from how the entertainment industry works.
As a critic of this performative outrage, it is time to inject some reality and nuance into the conversation.
1. It is About the Music, Period
J-Hope and RM are, first and foremost, world-class musical artists, dancers, and hip-hop/R&B fans. Chris Brown, regardless of his highly publicized and heavily scrutinized personal history, is undeniably one of the most influential dancers and R&B performers of this generation.
โขFor J-Hope, a dancer who has dedicated his life to hip-hop choreography, witnessing the Usher and Chris Brown R&B Tour live is purely a matter of professional appreciation.
โขTaking a photo backstage with a peer or a major global artist at a concert is standard industry behavior. It is not a political endorsement, nor is it a stamp of approval on anyone's personal mistakes.
2. The Hypocrisy of Selective Outrage
The internet loves to treat BTS like they live in an isolated bubble where they must maintain a flawless, untouchable moral standard that no other Western artist is forced to uphold.
โขMajor Western artists across the entire music industry including Rihanna herself, who later collaborated and reconciled with Chris Brown have worked with, hung out with, or publicly praised him.
โขTo suggest that J-Hope and Namjoon are uniquely "disappointing" or "betraying their morals" by taking a backstage photo is a massive, unfair double standard.
3. Grown Men Making Professional Choices
J-Hope and RM are grown men in their late 20s and early 30s. They are not characters in a curated fantasy narrative designed to perfectly coddle the internet's sensitivities. They are global music executives and performers navigating the real-world music industry. They have the absolute right to attend a concert, appreciate live music, and network with other major entities like Usher and Chris Brown without having their entire moral character assassinated by overreactive netizens.
The attempt to twist a fun, cross-cultural musical link-up into a narrative about condoning domestic violence is an Olympic-level stretch. It is entirely possible to separate an artist's personal past from their professional impact, and that is exactly what the Tannies are doing.
@kclab07 Namjoon. I really want to talk about Demian and books in general ๐ and I think drinking coffee and maybe visit a museum would be very nice as well
you ever realize the reason you felt so confused wasn't because the situation was complicated. it was because their words kept giving you hope while their actions kept taking it away.
It's one of days when I wonder if me existing even makes... I don't know... a difference? Sense? I wonder if it's simply me choosing the wrong people or if I am what's wrong. Why is it, that people I really care about don't seem to care about me at all?
