The European Parliament voted AGAINST Chat Control. 314 to 276.
And it passed anyway.
Let me tell you how: they needed 361 votes to say no. On the last day before vacation. Every empty seat counted as a yes.
They lost the vote. They won the law.
That’s not democracy. That’s a trick. #ChatControl
The EU Parliament REJECTED Chat Control, but now they are forcing us to vote it AGAIN to revive it. What kind of democracy is this if we're forced to vote on the same issue over and over until they get the result they want?
My colleague @MarketkaG explained the situation very well in plenary👇🏻
@LamaZense They’re gonna tell future generations, if there are any, that this was slavery and Europeans were exploiting these poor people, which tragically is somewhat true. But it’s not the poor Europeans exploiting them. Basically it’s a loose-loose-situation…
Carbon credits is a loophole that rich countries/corporations/organizations have come up with you arrest the development of poor countries by paying them to not burn Fossil Fuels, so that they can have it for themselves! It is climate colonialism disguised as climate stewardship.
The likes of Apple, Facebook and Microsoft can claim to depend on 100% renewable energy even when they run diesel generators because they bought credits from the government of Kenya or Tanzania to displace the Maasai tribe from their native land, and planted some trees or let grass grow.
I was arrested for criticizing Ursula Von der Leyen and peacefully protesting. What a joke, the court sentenced me guilty of crime I did not commit. Free speech is disappearing under our eyes in Europe. #Finland@TiinaKeskimki thanks for reporting the biggest case of free speech in Europe. It's not over yet.
@StefanMolyneux I’m not an atheist, but lying makes you small, as if you’re not good enough for the world. You build your own prison, you have to live in – a castle of lies. What if you lied yourself into a relationship? Are you really in it?
