@JBoatwater@DanByers12@NHLRumourReport Wings won’t get a superstar back but Yzerman will sit on this all year if he has to. He did it in Tampa when Drouin wanted out.
Plus 31 teams are interested. Larkin wants to go to a contender. That’s a bidding war between 5-6 teams.
@MJH7797@CaptRyanElls@NHLRumourReport So the wings trade Edvinsson, Kasper, probably Buchelnikov at the time, and a 1st for a year of Hughes and then trade him for a 1st, and a prospect? That’s you losing a trade and selling out for 1 playoff appearance.
@HockeyBanterPod@5thLaine I personally really like Carolina but idk if they need another center.
Nikishin, Nadeau, 1st round pick
Locks down d-core for next decade, gets a high end winger, and then a low first. Still need a center but that’s why there are trades!
@CB_Wolverines Dylan Larkin: played 11 seasons; 1 playoff appearance, 3 March meltdowns, gave up on team
Mortiz Seider: played entire 20 year career in Detroit, 2 cups, 1x Norris, HOF
@HockeyBanterPod I don’t think Larkin would force a divisional trade. I think he’d really only want to go to the Habs or Panthers anyway.
I could see him wanting like 5-6 teams which makes it flexible enough to get a good package
@HockeyBanterPod@5thLaine Yzerman would most likely be asking for Fantilli in return. My top 5 would be
1. Wild
2. Carolina
3. Ducks
4. Dallas
5. Vegas
I left out division teams cause I don’t see Yzerman making that trade unless he gets a HAUL
@HockeyBanterPod Utah is in a stacked division and they aren’t really close to being in that top 3… I see them in the same place as the wings tbh
It was 7 months but I get what you’re saying but I think Larkin will be flexible cause he actually wants to play.
@5thLaine@HockeyBanterPod So Larkin wants to win a cup and the jackets are a lateral move plus they would have to give up assets to get it done…. Makes no sense
@HockeyBanterPod You can take out Utah, the jackets, flyers, capitals, blackhawks, kings, and sharks. He wouldn’t waive for any of these teams expect the sharks and they probably wouldn’t be interested in him because he doesn’t fit their timeline
Add vegas, Minnesota, leafs, Canadiens, Colorado.
@gregknight88@PeteBlackburn What does that have to do with what you said?
You said Matthews said he wants to be in Toronto… I said Larkin said the same shit last month and then just asked out. Just cause players say they want to win there doesn’t mean anything. Players say what they have to say
@erkunks@headforthehews@BuiltInBuffalo_ Not if every team under the sun wants him… which if you’ve been on twitter today I think I’ve seen every fanbase put in mock trades. Plus he won’t go to a divisional team unless Yzerman gets a HAUL
@Thefishmonster@rdryan33 I don’t think so… Larkin is definitely gone. Last years end of year interviews was when Larkin told Yzerman to either improve the team or I’m out.
@CaptRyanElls@NHLRumourReport If Hughes really wanted to be in Detroit he would have said “Steve I’m gonna extend here come July 1st” then he would have traded for him. But he didn’t.
@CaptRyanElls@NHLRumourReport They probably make the playoffs but again if he leaves they just gave up a ton of young guys and picks for what…? 1 playoff appearance?
A ton of NHLers grew up in Michigan but as a GM you don’t want to commit that many assets for a potential 1 year rental.
@CaptRyanElls@NHLRumourReport Wild are in a completely different spot though. They have been 1st round exits for idk how many years in a row and they needed to make a splash in a stacked division.
If the wings make that trade and Hughes leaves then they’re in a really bad spot.
