アニメ勢からすると無印→解→礼→煌→業卒が一本軸の話だと勘違いしやすい
厳密には業卒は無論、礼と煌すらも繋がってないしな

*Meakashi* serves as the perfect answer arc to *Watanagashi*, and Shion's final monologue is incredibly poignant and magnificent. *Tatarigoroshi* represents the bleakest "bad end" of the question arcs; its mystery-laden, despair-filled conclusion heightened anticipation for the answer arcs. *Requiem* is the perfect answer arc for the entirety of *Umineko* (especially the manga version), and Will was the coolest male character of all.

It is true that the events of that painful world were a dream shown by Hanyuu, and Rika-chan had actually just hit her head and was asleep. That fact is what allows me to somehow bear it.
I'm just going to ignore *Gou* and *Sotsu* since the events there take place in a completely unrelated fragment—lol.

@HeavenElsewhere I also bought the complete set of the manga recently. The relationship between Rika and Satoko is depicted much more carefully than in the anime, and the ending is far more satisfying, so you have something to look forward to!

@HeavenElsewhere Yes, I certainly like the fact that Rika resolved to part ways with her witch persona and live as a human, as well as the fact that Bernkastel was born from that decision. However, I find the story itself difficult to watch because there are so many painful scenes.

ベルンカステル卿のルーツは賽殺し編で梨花ちゃんが決別した魔女の人格ととっくの昔に言われてるし、命でもそれを補強する「ニンゲン以外の部分を全て追い出して作られた」という記述があるんですよね
よって業卒はルーツとは無関係なんですね

I see—it seems he wasn't very involved in supervising the anime. In fact, in interviews, he expressed surprise at the anime's direction, noting that it differed from what he had envisioned. The manga version was more carefully crafted in every respect and showed greater respect for the characters.
