What is Stop Loss (SL), and why do you NEED to understand it?

A few days ago, I opened 3 $BTC short positions because everyone was saying:

Bear market is coming..Big dump soon.
BTC is going much lower.

So I shorted BTC around $59K*with my SL at $60K

Then BTC came back to $60K.I moved my SL to $62K.

A few days later, BTC hit $62K.I moved my SL to $66K.BTC hit $66K.I moved it again to $68K.BTC hit $68K.I moved it to $70K. Then BTC hit $70K.

And guess what? I cancelled my SL. 😑

BTC went to $71K and my entire position got liquidated.And now BTC is around $81K. 💀

Even if I had sold my house and kept adding liquidity, I probably would have found another way to get liquidated. 😭

But this trade taught me one of the biggest lessons of my life

Stop Loss is not your enemy. Your emotions are.

Always control your emotions.
Always manage your risk.
Never keep moving your SL just because the market is going against you.

We are small fish. 🐟Don't try to play the whale's game.

Protect your capital first.
There will always be another trade. ❤
