3/ The ZFF is encouraged by her passion & dedication. During the handover brunch, Prof emphasized the need to engage young women, for their benefit as well as future generations. We hope that we can keep the fire alight, that she & others started for women's liberation.
Viva!
1/ Today, the ZFF together with @ZWRCNZimbabwe, celebrated a sister and comrade, Prof. Rudo Gaidzanwa, a pioneer of the ZFF. Her contributions to the Zimbabwean women's & feminist movement are immeasurable. She is the first recipient of the ZFF Charity Call established in 2023.
2/ In her acceptance, Prof highlighted the difficulty of starting a movement. "When you talked about feminism in the 80’s people used to say we were really bad women. There were misconceptions about feminism, that we hated men."

Befitting that the #ZimFemForum Technical Working Group met in Women's History Month to review the 2023 convening and discuss the way forward for the #ZimbabweFeministForum's future. We are grateful to our new hosts @ZWRCNZimbabwe for organising the crucial meeting.
Day 2 of the Zimbabwe Feminist Forum. The day commenced with breathing and grounding exercises, facilitated by Hansa....Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths.

I've never really thought about this. It's becoming a default to say we are fine and in turn we ignore our mental health needs or fail to ask for help when we need it
The platforms we participate in are not ours, we do not own the means of communication that we use. We do not have the power. In essence, we are enabled to be in spaces but we do not have the means to create
Anti-rights movements are making in-roads because they are moralising the agendas yet, the technicality of humanness demands that we look at each other with the same lens, that we are human beings before the politics.
We still continuing to question and understand diversity even within the forum. LBQ women have been part of our organising since our inception but we have found ways to co-exist because we have many intersecting experiences - @graceruvimbo#ZFF2023#ZimFemForum
Back in primary school, we were taught how to respond to greetings.
Teacher: good morning
Students: fine thanks and how are you
At a young age, we were socialized to just say we are fine even if we are not. It's okay to not be okay
Healing may mean allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Acknowledge that it's okay to not be okay. Give yourself that grace you give to others, be kind to yourself. Pour into yourself first
There are some points to be taken from the ways in which patriarchy organises. We must be clear about how we want to move within the spaces and do better because when we take over, it will be for good! @KachingweNancy@WCOZIMBABWE@jass4justice@graceruvimbo
The definition of power differs across the room but how do we harness our collective power and diversity to organise ourselves for effectiveness?

What is the power that we want to see, how do we get there? @NettieMusanhu
We shouldn't underestimate what women have achieved so far.
