#ServiceDelivery Water Crisis: Are citizens getting the service they deserve?
Access to safe and clean water is a fundamental human right, yet many communities continue to face water shortages and unreliable supply. Section 77 of Zimbabwe’s Constitution guarantees every person the right to safe, clean and potable water. But what does this right mean when taps run dry and communities struggle to access this essential resource? This raises important questions about service delivery, accountability and the fulfilment of citizens’ rights.
We want to hear from you, the citizens!
💧 How often do you receive running water in your community?
💧 How long can you go without water before supplies are restored?
💧 Where do you get water when your taps run dry and how much does it cost you?
Your experiences matter. Sharing them helps highlight service delivery challenges and encourages meaningful engagement between communities and responsible authorities.
📢 Tell us your story in the comments. What is the water situation where you live?

#MembershipTuesday For Joe Bernard, the journey of understanding human rights has been an important part of his experience with @ZimRightsLIVE. As he shares his story, he reflects on how learning about his rights has shaped his understanding of the importance of standing up for human dignity, equality and justice.
His message is clear: everyone is welcome to join ZimRights! You do not need to know everything about human rights to become part of the movement. Sometimes, the journey begins with a willingness to learn, understand your rights and help others do the same.
Join ZimRights and be part of a community that empowers people to know their rights, defend their dignity and stand together for a Zimbabwe where everyone's rights are respected and protected.

#ManifestoMonday Redcliff Explosion: Who is Accountable?
At least 150 homes damaged. One life reportedly lost. Communities left counting their losses.
The explosion at the BIMCO explosives magazine in Redcliff on 10 October 2026 raises urgent questions about community safety, the protection of livelihoods and accountability.
❓ Were adequate safety measures in place to protect nearby residents?
❓ Who will take responsibility for the damage and support affected families?
❓ What action will be taken to prevent similar incidents?
The People’s Human Rights Manifesto (PHRM) calls for good governance and accountability through Ask 9 and Ask 10, while Ask 7 emphasises the need for safe spaces for informal workers to protect their livelihoods.
Human rights must go beyond promises. Communities deserve safety, answers and accountability.
The UN warns El Nino could put more than six million Zimbabweans at risk of hunger. Farmers are being told not to plant after the first rains, but with only one growing season, waiting brings risks as drought fears grow.
Al Jazeera’s Nicolas Haque reports.

At the conclusion of her country visit to Zimbabwe, the UN Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights, @AlexXanthaki, says "Zimbabwe must improve the quality of its civic space in order to ensure full participation in cultural life for all."
Today, in our #30Rights30Cases, we reflect on how the High Court "faulted" President Mnangagwa for failing to publish the findings of a Commission of Inquiry Report into the matter of sale of state land and ruled that the failure to make public a report of such national importance conveyed "opacity rather than transparency and secrecy rather than accountability, and silence rather than responsiveness."

⏰ Every 3 seconds, an adolescent girl is forced into child marriage.
That’s 12 million girls every year who are robbed of their health, education and the fundamental right to choose their own future.
When a girl is married as a child, her education ends, her health is put at severe risk and her potential is cut short.
But we know what works: investing in health, education and social protection for girls can help #EndChildMarriage for good.
This #DayOfTheGirl, join @UNFPA to invest in girls' rights now: https://t.co/4KjGbNhiAk

A girl is married somewhere in the world every 3 seconds - cutting her childhood short, ending her education, and putting her health and future at risk.
The “urgency to end child marriage is greater than ever”. Progress must accelerate by at least 20 times by 2030. #UNFPA calls on governments, communities, and partners to “invest, at scale and over time” to ensure girls’ rights are upheld - everywhere.

#ManifestoMonday End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls' Rights.
The People's Human Rights Manifesto (PHRM) reminds us that every girl is a rights-holder today, deserving of dignity, equality, protection and access to quality education. Through Ask 1, Ask 5 and Ask 8, the PHRM calls for constitutional protection, affordable education and the freedom to participate in decisions that shape girls' lives.
Ending child marriage and protecting girls from abuse and discrimination requires more than promises; it demands action and accountability from leaders and communities.
The PHRM's 10 Asks are girls' rights. Hold leaders accountable.
