Congratulations to Houston VA’s breast imaging department for achieving accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR) for all three mammography units.
ACR mammography accreditation signifies that our facility meets the most rigorous national standards for image quality, radiation safety, equipment performance, technologist and physician qualifications, and quality assurance.
The largest breast imaging department in VA, Houston VA has performed examinations for more than 12,000 Veterans since opening nine years ago.
Our full-service breast imaging program provides screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and image-guided breast biopsies, allowing patients to receive seamless, coordinated care in one location.
To schedule a mammogram, please call Houston VA at 713-799-0741.

@BenSasse I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I lost my dad in 1968 to this incredibly devastating disease. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope that somehow there'll be a miracle, you defy the odds, and you survive.
Felicia Zimmerman is just one of our extraordinary volunteers at Houston VA. She has volunteered for the past three years, including the past three months in the Breast Imaging Department.
She has made a positive impact on the department by assisting with patient flow, providing robes and appointment reminders.
"We couldn't deliver the high quality of care that we do without Ms. Zimmerman's dedication and positive impact on our daily operations," said Dr. Parizi, Chief of the Breast Imaging Section.
She has a connection to Veterans with her father serving as a surgeon in the Army and her uncle serving in the Navy during WWII in the pacific.
Zimmerman is a graduate of John Hopkins and had an impressive career in business. She worked for several large corporations, and then started her own consulting practice, advising senior management teams to develop their businesses and communicate effectively.
We are grateful to have Ms. Zimmerman on our team and appreciate her service to VA.

Thank you to the Harris County Tax Office for supporting our annual National Voter Registration Day event on Sept. 16!
Held in the main lobby, Veterans were able to register to vote or check their voter registration status. #HoustonVA

I didn’t come to @DeptVetAffairs to keep doing things the same way they’ve always been done. I came to improve the department, so it serves Veterans better, faster and more efficiently.
