Rethinking Novel Therapy Use in End-of-Life Cancer Care
Research from @UHN’s @ZimmTeamLab reports a rising use of systemic anticancer therapies at the end of life—primarily driven by cancer immunotherapy. This trend raises important concerns.

Urgent need for updated guidelines on Systemic Anticancer Therapy use at #EndofLife: Our study of 68,000+ patients found use of novel SACT at EOL, including immunotherapy, was associated with indicators of poor-quality #EndofLifeCare. https://t.co/HJbzZK3g9a @JCO_ASCO@thePMCF

Disparities in end-of-life care 🕰️
The pandemic caused more cancer patients to die at home and less delivery of palliative care. The low socioeconomic group was the hardest hit, as their increase in home deaths was not accompanied by palliative care.
