In Saturday's NZ/SL ODI, it was incorrectly reported that a flat battery caused a Zing bail to flash late, so the batsman was 'incorrectly' given not out. However, the Zings worked perfectly to the laws of cricket. One bail has to be COMPLETELY removed for the wicket to be broken

As soon as the second end of the bail is removed, both the bail and stump flash.

The Zing bails will never flash at the wrong time, only the instant the wicket is put down in accordance with the laws of cricket.

So theoretically a third option exists for games in which the Zings are used - Zings light up means it is out.Meaning the historically important nature of what a 'wicket' is wouldn't be lost to the game

@sid_2893 @IrfanPathan Yes, if a Zing bail lights, it means BOTH spigots have lifted from the groove. So at that point the wicket is 'put down' by the laws of cricket. But if the bail reseats (when the Zings will turn off) by the laws of cricket it is not out.
